Oh my butiki - oh my buhay

The ipises (cockroaches) have somewhat lied low. They sensed that there’s an all out offense against their presence in our household kaya siguro mga nagtago muna. I bought several cans of Baygon and bottles of alcohol. I gave a pukpuk to kill order against all ipises, babies whether toddlers, teens, adults, even seniors. Show no mercy!

Here comes the attack of the butikis. Parang mga nang-aasar, they wantonly display their tails around our house. As if they are legitimate guests. Before, they hide and would just come out when there’s no one. Aba ngayon, sobrang mga kapal-pwets, they’re all over the place. Babies, adolescents, adults, big fat middle aged lizard. I think they are as promiscuous as ipises, ang bilis nilang dumami. Minsan I saw two teenage lizards chasing each other, flirtation stage or already in a relationship.

I shrieked when I saw a big one on the floor of Edmund’s closet room. Because our bathroom floor is white, that was the first thing that caught my eyes when I switched on the light. Nagising tuloy si Edmund.
OMB——- “Sorry tart, meron kasing malaking butiki sa floor”.

OMB sugod… I got a bottle of alcohol from Edmund’s bathroom counter. Spritz, sritz, spritz, I chased it. It ran to my bathroom, up my bowl, spritz, it fell on the floor, ran under my vanity cabinet, spritz, spritz. Buhay pa rin.

OMB———- “Tart, sorry I finished your alcohol. Ayaw pa rin mamatay”.
Shrieked again. Edmund stood up and went to my bathroom.”
E———— “Ano ba yan? Asan ba?”
OMB———- “Yan o”. (It was clinging to my garbage basket).
Edmund grabbed an empty tissue box from another bin and pukpuk the butiki. Buhay parin. Pak pak. Patay.
E———— “Pukpukin mo lang”.
He picked it up with a tissue paper and brought it to his bathroom. I think he flushed it down. Syempre, alangan itinago nya sa drawer. Dahh.

He has changed the way he thinks about lizards. Dati nakukunsumi sya sa akin when I complained about lizards. Kala nya siguro pets yun. Ngayon, they have multiplied and their presence have become more visible, kaya nainis na rin sya.
