Olive Garden - Oh My Buhay

February 1, 2019

Pouring rain, strong winds, pitch dark, and alone on a Friday night. It made me go out and eat out. I didn’t know where to go, the choices were short. Chipotle, McDo, In & Out, Red Lobster, Panda Express, Burger King, Olive Garden.

I made a right turn and decided to pull over because of the heavy rain. I saw people getting off their cars and walking to Olive Garden. Why not? Ako din gaya-gaya.

I parked some 50 meters away because the slots closest to the entrance were occupied. I braved the strong rain and used a piece of tissue paper to cover my head. Syempre tunaw agad.

I almost backed out when I saw the droves of people cramped at the small lobby. But walking back in the rain made me decide to stay. I knew I had a good chance of getting one chair.
The waiting list was long, like an hour. But since I was alone, there were two vacant seats at the bar and I told the receptionist I didn’t mind sitting at the bar. Well done, I didn’t have to wait.

Olive Garden customers waiting

I actually had no plans of eating. My big appetite was gone. I just wanted company. I wanted to be around people. And oh boy, Olive Garden was full of people on a Friday night. Pami-pamilya.

I ordered spaghetti pasta $11.99 plus shrimps $4.99.
I didn’t know it comes with a big bowl of salad good for 3 people.

I ate half. The food server asked if I wanted to wrap my left-over pasta.  Wag na lang kasi masusuya na ako.
