1. Despite the 45 degrees body heat index, my husband continued to play golf in total disregard for my request not to when the temperature hits 40. He has ice cold water and wet towels naman daw and rides golf cart. Even then, it would still be hot. His heat tolerance is very high. I am glad the temperature has considerably gone down this week. The trade-off— it’s raining men, hallelujah. Iwas kidlat naman when you’re in the field.
2. I dropped my Iphone countless times but so far it’s still alive. The worst fall so far was the other day. I arrived from work. While going up the side stairs, it just flew out of my left hand and fell one flight down, face down. Plak! It was a solid fall. My maid, who was behind me said “Ala mam, yung celphone mo!” She ran down to get it. I was expecting a shattered screen. But my phone was intact, not a single scratch. Unbelievable. This is a real survivor. I love you Iphone.
3. There are road widening projects around Aguinaldo Highway, in Cavite. This contractor was delivering concrete pipes with just two payat men using bamboo sticks to push the pipes down the truck, an innovative way of making use of gravity. They let the pipes roll down and push the front ends.
It was very dangerous to motorists. The pipes could roll down and crush our vehicles.
4. The driver of this bahay kubo drove past electric wires and cables, oblivious to the fact that he could knock down posts or cut cables and wires.
5. Edmund told me that our neighbor must have planted instant pine trees behind our house. He said they’re all dead. Yes they are dead. The mortality rate of transferring big trees (balled trees) is really high.
You would think that this is in a farm. Sa likod bahay lang namin yan. My husband planted mango, mahogany, santol, acacia, etc. about 8 years ago. Ang tataas na. Pang block ng alikabok.
6. My daughter spent her Independence Day at the Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan. On their way back, she bought 4 pieces of crabs (alimango) from one of the highway vendors. Alam ko na nga ba na mas mahal ito at kulang sa timbang. She was told this is three and a half kilos. Four pieces, medium size, 1.25 kilos lang yan. Only two pieces are mataba. The biggest one is the most payatot and walang laman.
7. We took the 5 pm Sunday mass. More people pala attend this schedule. We arrived at 5:05 and there were no more seats. We stood at the stairs going up the balcony, beside the confessional box.
8. I always noticed this girl every time we heard mass. Not always, but maybe this was the 4th time. Ganyan lagi ang get-up nya. Psychedelic.
9. I visited the sales department and I noticed this young agent’s hair. I asked how long did it take to grow her hair this long. She said one year lang daw. It’s hard to believe. She said she used the same shampoo in Sarah Geronimo’s commercial. Sunsilk ba yun? Bili na tayo.
10. Omb——“Antonia anong oras umalis si Sir Nyke?”
Omb——“Hindi ko mam napansin”.
Omb——“Gabi na ba?”
Maid J—“Alas kwatro mam”.
Antonia–“Hindi, alas sais sya umalis”.
Maid B—“Alsa singko mam”.
Omb——-“Anong alas singko eh nadito ako alas singko wala na sya”.
Cook—–“Alas dose mam, baka ala una”.
Omb——-“Wala kayong kwentang kausap”.
