1. I was craving for champorado and tuyo. I asked Antonia to cook some. She did. I didn’t see any milk on the table. I asked her if we still have evaporated milk. She said there’s a can in the ref. She opened the ref and took the can of evap.
A——–“Matagal na yata yan, baka sira na”.
Antonia–“Bago lang ito mam”.
A——–“kailan pa?”
Antonia–“Nung bago kayo umalis”.
A——–“Mag-iisang buwan na, baka panis na yan”.
I saw her shaking the can. Then she placed it on her left ear while shaking it vigorously.
A——–“Ano’ng ginagawa mo”.
Antonia–“Pinapakinggan ko mam”.
A ????
Antonia–“Kung sira na”.
Alin kaya ang sira, yung gatas o sya? I’m so bad.
2. I went down to the kitchen at 1 am this morning, parang nagugutom ako. I ate some of the garlic beef in the ref, a few slices of cheese noir truffle, and a little bit of this and that. Then it dawned on me that I haven’t had dinner pala.
3. Kaya pala hindi agad ako nagutom kasi I drank smoothie at 5:30 pm from Jamba Juice at the Fort, the one beside MANGO and near the Belo Clinic. I got strawberry wild, a mixture of apple, banana and strawberry.
4. I left the office yesterday at 5 pm and swung by a watch store at the Fort. That’s my second time there in a span of one year. The sales person recognized me. Ayaw ko ngang marecognize nila ako kasi they would lose interest. Sasabihin eto na naman itong ale na ito, puro tingin lang, hindi naman bibili. Abah birthday ko yata next week, malay mo, toyoin ako bigla akong bumili.
Kulit na kulit na sa akin si Edmund, ang kulit ko daw kasi it’s been a year that I’ve been looking at watches. Nung Saturday kasi after the mass, kinaladkad ko sya to a watch store, magsasara na nga, at while we were inside the store, nagsara na nga. pati yung guards, sales persons and managers, kilala na ako, hindi naman bibili puro tingin at sukat. Luma na yung mga relo nila sa kasusukat ko.
Pag meron akong nakita, hihilahin ko si Edmund to get his opinion. Tapos si Oyen naman ang isasama ko. Tapos, hindi naman ako bumibili. Sobra ko pang ina-analyze yung mga features and value for money. He told me last night why I want to buy a new watch. Wala gusto ko lang. Inaaliw ko lang sarili ko. He said that means analyzing the features and value for money do not apply in this case. He used a Hermes bag for example. Why pay so much money, wala namang features and value for money. It’s just leather and looks like any other bag. Only because one likes it. Ganun lang.
I have also emailed the photos of my arm wearing different watches to my friend. I asked him na rin which one is nicer. Baka makulitan na rin sa akin.
I emailed the same photos to my sister. Sabi nya mukha daw Michael Kors lang.
Yung isa na lang daw na metal. Ayoko ngang i-post dito, pintasan nyo pa. Lalo na akong magsalawahan.
I should stop over-analyzing it. Actually this is the first time this happened. I am very decisive actually. Ngayon lang, ang kulit ko na, sign of old age.
5. I saw this spanking Land Rover DEFENDER parked at the back of MANGO. Machong-macho. Baka magalit yung owner, I took a photo. It has no plate yet.
6. There are a few vacant positions at Makati Ford. Our Accounting Supervisor is reviewing for the CPA board exam and her schedule is whole day, parang full time estudyante uli. I interviewed two applicants. Ang problema when a person worked for a multinational firm with 100 people in the accounting department, their knowledge becomes limited. Sa dami nila, hati-hati ang trabaho. Kung taga gawa ka lang ng vouchers, yun lang ang alam mo, day in and day out for 13 years.
The big advantage of working in a smaller firm like ours is that the job allows you to learn the whole spectrum of the accounting department. you learn a lot because multi-tasking dito. Mas magagaling ang mga nagtatrabaho sa smaller companies.
The two accountants I interviewed had very high salaries in the previous jobs syemre kasi American and Japanese firms. But their knowledge and experiences were limited in relation to the salary scale they expected. We still have to train them for several months because they knew nothing about our operations. Kulang ang knowledge, pero sobra sa asking salary.
And by the way, attention accounting graduates and professors: so many accounting graduates do not know how to prepare financial statements.
That is a basic requirement. Do not leave school till you know that, kailangan kahit nakapikit kayo, kaya nyong gawin yan.
7. The real estate agents are very persistent, in a nice way naman. Even if I say outright that I have no intention to buy, they would still insist on getting my name, email, number, and give me brochures. Sayang yung brochures kasi I have no where to put them and I have no use for them.
8. I received a check for P9,341.88 yesterday afternoon. Naalala ko bigla, sa Tiangge sa Greenhills at sa palengke, yung pera ipinapagpag nila sa mga paninda nila para daw magmultiply. Gayahin ko nga. Baka biglang maging P93,418.80 or P934,188 yung pera ko.
dito naman
pagpag here
pagpag there. May it multiply by a thousand fold.
9. What happens when a passenger jeepney runs too close to your car’s side?
Broken bumper.
10. I now carry around a sheet of paper listing all the Ford models we sell, kasi I have difficulty memorizing the many variants.
This is the back of a Ford Ranger XLT 2.2L 4×2 either manual (P1,099,000) or automatic (P1,169,000). When I was 25 years old, that amount could buy a nice house and lot in Greenhills subdivision, not one, but two houses. Tig-isa tayo. Ngayon, Ford Ranger na lang. 25 years from now baka tricycle lang isang milyon na.
I promise myself a brand new car when I reach my 10th year at work, 2 more years ms annie and promise syo ako buy ng kotse!
How nice of you. Thank you.
