OMB Tweets #2 - Oh My Buhay

1. I heard a woman say “Siguro naman alam mo na’ng gagawin mo”. I looked at where that came from and saw a mestiza woman giving instructions to a guy on how to take their picture properly using her phone. Then she moved to join two older women for a nice photo. She looked familiar but I wasn’t sure who she was. After a while, I realized, she’s actress Marian Rivera, the wife of actor Dingdong Dantes. Her skin is very fair which provided a good contrast to her color green Hermes Birkin handbag.

2. Saw a little boy, around 5 years old, walking on the Ortigas fly-over bridge. He suddenly climbed on the railing, leaned forward as if talking to someone. I was terrified he could fall. How did he get to the bridge? He seemed talking to someone below, probably his parents. Irresponsible parents.

I was too stunned when I saw him, I didn’t click my camera.

3. Super traffic forever, even at 4 pm

4. Ang sarap on February 25, walang sasakyan sa Ortigas because the policemen blocked the road.

5. A house in the village sells fresh coconut from their hundreds of hectares of coconut farm in Batangas. When I first discovered them, the price was seven pesos. Now it’s twenty per buko.

Coconuts sold by neighbor

Before getting off the van, I reminded the driver twice to make sure he brings the coconuts to the kitchen. And to rest and eat because we’re leaving again after two hours. Thirty minutes after we’ve left the house, we got caught in a big traffic jam in EDSA. I was beginning to feel agitated because I didn’t want to be late to my next meeting, I turned and saw the coconuts were still there. When I told him about the buko, he wanted to go back to our house to bring the buko to our kitchen. Sometimes, I feel like letting go of all the drivers and just drive by myself. If only there are light traffic and ample parking every where. There are days I don’t want to see them kasi they are big contributors to my irritations. Ngayon lang kinukwento ko sa inyo, naiinis na uli ako.

6. Every night, two maids are tasked to walk the little dogs outside. Every time na lang, they tied them at the gate while waiting to be walked outside. The dogs get excited, kaya kahol ng kahol. Sinabi na ngang wag ganun ang gawin kasi ayaw kong maririnig na kumakahol or umiiyak yung mga aso. Plus our neighbors na naman would call the village security to come to our house. Hayyy!

7. E———–“Di ba ganyan din ang ulam nating kagabi?”
A———–“At kaninang umaga. Terno daw yan sa fried chicken”.

8. I came home at 5 pm, starving, with no lunch yet. I smelled the maids cooking something. I thought it’s for our dinner.
I went out to the kitchen to ask, kasi ang bango.
Cook————“Mam, okoy para sa amin, merienda”.
crispy okoy
A—————“Hindi pa ako nagla-lunch, nagugutom ako”.
Cook————“Gusto mo?”
Parang nakakahiya naman, sa kanilang pagkain yun.

9. I’ve been asked to do a book review. Meron akong problema dyan kasi malabo ang mga mata ko. I can’t read smaller than 12 pts. Even 14 could strain my eyes when I’m reading for a long time. I’ll try to find a way, maybe a magnifying glass could help.

10. I’ve been asked to do a software app test and review. Problem, I am not a techie. I am ignoramus when it comes to technology.

11. I’ve been asked to write a story on some summer coolers for the American market. The only thing that I am an expert on is buko juice, no water, no sugar, just ice.

I feel honored and grateful that the world is beginning to notice Oh my buhay.
I am particularly grateful to the many ladies and a few gentlemen who share their precious life with me, by spending their time (several minutes a day) reading my personal blog. Salamat po.
