1. I saw Edmund taking pictures of some thing outside our window.
He said it’s going to be a rare specie that could face extinction.
It’s a dragonfly pala. He also took photos of the tutubi using my cellphone.
Omb——-“Tart nung maliit ako lagi kong kasama si Tigi at Dinand, nang-uumpit kami ng tutubi. I only caught the little ones, I was afraid of the bigger ones. Na-experience mo rin ba yan?”

2. Nakakahinayang ito. I bought this white Christian Dior shoulder bag from Saks Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, some 12 years ago. It was US$450 + tax. I used gift certificates from American Express worth $400. I only added $50 plus the sales tax.
It was so pretty. I should have known that the color white would not last long. Only after a few uses, it was so dirty already. I kept it inside the dust bag hoping to preserve it. I was wrong. The humidity wrecked havoc on its leather.
For the last time, I will try to wash it in water and soap and see what happens.

3. I bought new inner curtains from Ikea for Nyke’s windows. The old ones are beyond repair and salvaging. Time to replace them.

4. Maid IR didn’t come back as promised. She only asked for a two hour furlough to have dinner with her husband who turned out to be her boyfriend, not husband. After a week, biglang nagmulto. She wanted to come back and work again here. Huh? Ang gugulo nitong mga maids namin. I told her to get her things muna, and attend to her family. Saka na lang nya ako i-text. Kesyo kaya daw sya hindi naka tawag kasi her son in law tried to kill her daughter. “Mam, lulong sa droga”.

I told her I have to discuss first with my husband if we would like her to work for us again. Ang sabi nya kasi, masama daw ang titig sa kanya ni Sir (Edmund).
When I told the maids that I do not want them to talk about our family, pagtsismisan nila kami, pagkatuwaan, to invent things, even if said in jest, she answered “mam, hindi ko sinabi yun, ang sabi ko napagalitan ako ni sir nung nagpi-prito ako. Sino ba ako na papatulan ng amo, ako’y isang alipin laang”. Malakas talaga ang kalembang.

This is maid H, the new house cleaner. She also belongs to the daze group. Always tulala. It’s hard to give her instructions. She seems to be mabait naman, kaya lang tila .0001 mbps lang.

5. Slippers at the foot of stairs are sheer indication that this house is lived in. It reminds me of my childhood. Ganyan sa bahay namin sa Binangonan, ang daming tsinelas sa ibaba ng hagdan, patung-patong.
I own the 4 pairs of colorful tsinelas. Why so many? Ulyanin. I kept on going to the shoe cabinet to get a pair only to find out that I was already wearing a pair a while ago but left them here.

The brown shoes belong to my son. The Prada slippers are his too, pasalubong of his friend who vacationed in Italy.

6. Edmund finds our new kusi-chef a bit slow so I helped her cook the guinataan na lang. She sliced the ingredients.

So as not to be accused of not sharing with them what we eat, I cooked two big casseroles of guinataan.

Ours is not one casserole, just a medium bowl. It has less sugar and less malapot. Kulang sa lasa kasi not sweet. Pwede na.

7. I also cooked the clam soup. I wasn’t sure if she knew how to cook it the right way. Ilang araw na kasi over cook luto nya. Pag hindi marunong magluto, masyadong pinapakuluan yung clams kaya tumitigas at lumiliit. Konting kulo lang luto na yan. I didn’t want to take chances so I cooked the soup myself. Edmund and I loved it.

8. The night before:

Omb———“Kusichef B, ayaw ni Sir na paulit-ulit yung luto, yung beakfast nya, ayaw nyang uulitin sa dinner. Dapat laging bagong luto
“.
Kusichef B——-“Oho mam, dapat bagong luto”.
Omb————–“Oo, lalo na kung isda ayaw nya na iniinit lang kasi matigas na”.

The morning after:
Omb———-“Kusichef B, ano ito?”
KCB———-“Yung tuna mam, sobra kagabi, hindi nya naubos, ininit ko para kay Sir”.
