1. View from the Guadalupe Bridge. I captured our own version of Borealis with my I/phone while cruising along EDSA. Correction: crawling along EDSA.

2. Our cook served vegetable pasta. It didn’t look appetizing but the taste was decent. I asked who cooked it she said our maid Rose taught her how. Rose learned to prepare this vegetarian dish when she was an OFW in Saudi Arabia.

3. I like FIC’s red bean and quezo flavors.
FIC, red bean and quezo ice cream

While I was walking to the exit, while eating the ice cream, my husband called. Medyo mainit ang ulo. He was venting out his frustration about something. While he was talking, syempre I couldn’t continue eating my ice cream. I didn’t want to interrupt him naman. I bought pa naman two scoops. I stared at it while it melts. When my husband put down the phone, I wasted no time in slurping the dripping ice cream.

I couldn’t find a garbage bin at the entrance / exit of Power Plant Mall (Rockwell).

I usually bring home my garbage but this cup still has melted ice cream. It might spill on my clothes.
After going back and forth looking for a bin, I decided to leave the ice cream cup here…..point point….

4. An art gallery is selling this beautiful Loreto Racuya oil on canvass painting.

When I said “wow ang mahal”. The art dealer took the calculator and showed me a new amount 35% off na lang daw for me. When I said “wow ang mahal pa rin”, she asked me to make an offer. She said she’s going on a two week holiday somewhere in Asia and it would be a perfect timing, “Mam, bilhin mo na meron akong baon”. I left without buying anything.

5. I went to the gallery not to buy something. I went there to help an OMB reader. He is asking me to help him sell his two Max Adlao paintings he inherited from his father. I inquired from the gallery if they have a Max Adlao so I could get an idea how much the prices are. Patay na the artist. I asked three other dealers and they didn’t know the price range. I looked for the former employee of one of the galleries who sold me two Max Adlao paintings several years ago. I found her but she said since the artist is already gone (rest in peace), no one would authenticate the paintings that my reader is trying to sell. If I am not mistaken, he’s moving to the US that’s why he couldn’t bring the Adlao paintings with him.

6. Did you know that many Filipinos, especially the younger generation didn’t know what US means? Kala nila U stands for Universal. Pls remember: United States of America

7. Eto pa, P.I. stands for Philippine Islands. I’ve mentioned this before so consider this as a review. Nung araw, that was how our country was called. Example: “Uuwi ka ba sa P.I.?”

9. I went to ACE Hardware last saturday to buy cabinet and drawer handles for my daughter’s cabinet. The furniture maker said the cost was not included in the price of the cabinets that why I should be the one to provide for the handles.
Instead of arguing with them, para matapos na lang, I agreed to buy the 21 handles.

While choosing, there’s a young lady who said “that one” pointing at the handles I was holding in my left hand. She looked genuinely interested to help me choose. I asked her “interior designer ka ba?” She said she’s an architect, from UP Diliman pa. Ang swerte ko. Free consultation. Friends na kami ni Architect Arlene Rollo. She’s 27, mukhang high school student pa lang.
She was at ACE hardware also looking for handles for a 128 sqm condo project in Greenhills belonging to a foreign-based Filipino family.

10. I sent my driver to the grocery tonight. I made a list, konti lang, ang lalaki pa ng letra. Bukod sa English, meron pang Tagalog translation, meron pang drawing nung box or can. Included in the grocery list was ice cream, half gallon, flavor, Vanilla.

Driver—-“Banilya”.
OMB——–“Bakit Macapuno ang binili mo?”
Driver—–“Hindi mam, banilya ang binili ko”.
OMB——–“Hindi mo ba binasa?”
Driver—–“Binasa kong mabuti mam, banilya”.

  1. I love the geography lesson, Ms. Annie 🙂 Pero I learned in college that “P.I” is no longer politically correct. RP na daw, as in Republic of the Philippines 😀
