1. Epza gave me a big chocolate last night. I ate a tiny slice while she was still here. When Edmund arrived, we ate a slice each.
Today, I ate a bigger slice. My son didn’t want to eat kasi daw he’s on diet (kunwari). I can’t consume the whole cake so I shared some with the household helpers.
I hope Epza wouldn’t mind.
2. I was by myself today. Hindi na’ko nagpaluto ng lunch or breakfast. I ate left over salad from last night.
I only had one guest, mahina pala syang kumain. I expected one more to come but I forgot to contact her soon enough. Now I have to finish all these salad.
3. I felt hungry immediately after we left Nemiranda’s Art Gallery. Although he has a restaurant, I didn’t want to eat there because he might not let us pay for the bill nakakahiya. I would like to eat there when he’s not around. We went to Bahay Kawayan instead which was also along the way because it’s in Taytay.
We ordered the same things every time.
I couldn’t think of anything anymore while waiting for our order. I was really starving.
The alamang they give with manggang hilaw is different from the alamang if you order kare-kare. I always request for the alamang for the kare-kare kasi mas masarap.
Tsambahan lang na merong itlog ang dalag. Tyempo, ang daming itlog.
Edmund’s favorite dishes at this restaurant is the crispy hito and the hipon sa gata (shrimp in coconut milk). I ate one piece of hipon, he finished the rest. I was so busog na kasi from the big dalag (mud fish) and I also finished one whole manibalang na mangga. (semi-ripe). I couldn’t order halo-halo kasi my stomach was almost bursting. Kanina hindi ako makapag-isip kasi gutom na gutom ako, tapos ngayon naman, hindi ako makapag-isip kasi busog na busog ako.
4. I hung this Mother and Child painting by Jovito Andres at Cainta’s stairs landing but Edmund moved it to his office recently because there were heavy water leaks on the wall. Baka daw masira.
Jovito Andress is a Fine Arts graduate from my alma mater UST. He is also from Angono.
5. My daughter sent me this photo. The view from the apartment she and her friends are staying at for a few days in Paris.
6. Ford Cainta’s showroom display
7. Edmund found a one peso coin from a very busy thoroughfare in Cavite.
E——-“Tart may piso… kunin ko”.
A——-“Baka naman masagasaan ka pa dahil sa piso”.
8. Organic banana fresh from our tree
9. There’s a Papemelroti store at the UP Town Center Mall. Papemelroti is the combination of all the names of the owners, Benny and Corint Alejandro’s children: Patsy, Peggy, Meldy, Robert, and Tina.
I wonder if their store in Ali Mall is still there.
When I was in college, libang-na libang ako pag-tingin ng tinda nila. I would spend an hour touching this and that, looking at the prices. That time, as a jobless student, I found their prices very expensive. Yes, I was able to buy a few pieces but how I wished I had more money to buy everything that I liked. Now, I still find their items somewhat expensive especially that their target market is the young, and students. I bought two items from their UP Town Center store and I paid almost P3,000 bucks. My son bought something for P500. Mga made of carton lang.
Oh, I can stay inside Papemelroti all day. I’m planning to buy a wall decor as well. 🙂
