1. At Leon Gallery auctions, there were waiters who went around serving drinks and canapes. At the Well Appointed Life Auction at the Rockwell Tent, a buffet was laid out by Salcedo Auctions.

2. One waiter dropped one tray full of plates. Nawala ang malas.

3. Our HR in Makati informed me that one of our female staff agreed to resign. She’s been under evaluation for the longest time. For the almost three years she’s been here, 1,000 times na yang tardy kasi every day late sya. Kung kailan merong deadline duon pa sya absent. Madalas she’s into a verbal tussle with her kasambaho. Sobrang maximum tolerance. Verbal and written reminders. A few suspensions, wala pa rin. We tried to understand her personal circumstances but we have to apply the rules to every one, otherwise all our employees would come as they wish. She has difficulty working with her kasambaho (kasama sa trabaho). Kahit saan sya magtrabaho hindi pwede yung ganun style.

The DOLE officer our HR consults every time we have an issue with an employee says mabait daw kami.

4. My daughter had a luncheon meeting outside the office. She didn’t finish her pasta. Ang nanay ang taga ubos. It was delicious but very spicy.

5. Every month I receive an email from 100 Pinoy Blogs by Worth congratulating me for making it to Philippines’ top personal blogs. I don’t know what the criteria is. Every time they congratulate me, with all honesty and candor parang nagwo-worry ako, I tell myself, naku po ano kaya ang binabasa nila sa blog ko? In the bloggys website naman, they encouraged nominees to make their blog great so that more people will like , vote their sites. Inisip ko naman, in my case, this is my personal diary, I don’t write it for others. I don’t know how to make it great so that more readers will vote for me. It is what it is. Eto na yun.

6. Nung araw sa bayan namin, ang ulam ng mahihirap ay ayungin. Ito rin ang ulam ng middle class at kahit yung may kaya sa Binangonan. Ang pet name ng ayungin ay ALWAYS. Kasi always na lang sya ang ulam ng mga tiga-Rizal. Dito sa Maynila, nung araw at panahon ni Marcos, Si Gigi ang reyna ng kahirapan. Lagi na lang galunggong ang ulam kasi sya ang pinakamura. Kaya nga nung kumandidato si Cory Aquino, kasama si Gigi sa kampanya nya. “Magkano na ngayon ang galunggong?……” Ang sabi ng political strategists nya, pagnaging presidente si Tita Cory (we’re relatives) ay bababa ang presyo ni GG. Pero that didn’t happen, the price of this iconic fish has since risen and keeps on rising. Hindi na sya pang-mahirap, pang-mayaman na din sya.

7. Alam naman nila na wala na silang plastic bags, hindi pa maghanda ng mga kahon, kung kailan merong customer at saka pa pupunta sa stock room at maghahagilap ng boxes.

8. Masahol pa tayo ngayon sa mga tiga Manhattan. Lahat na lang dito sa atin nag-aabang ng tip. Nag-hihintay na ‘ABUTAN”. At nasanay na rin tayong lahat binibigyan natin ng tip kahit yung hindi naman humihingi eh kinu-corrupt natin. “O. pangmeryenda”. “O manong, pangsoftdrink lang”. I am guilty as charged. Ganyan din ako.

9. I was about to get on the van when I suddenly remembered seeing a Snickers ice cream bar. I went back to the grocery and bought 4 pieces for dear husband. Ang mahal almost P100 each . Sa bagay parang two dollars lang isa. He ate two pero sobra daw tamis. When my father was still alive, every time Edmund would visit, my papa would make sure there’s Nestle ice cream crunch in the freezer for his son-in-law. Alam nya kasi favorite ni Edmund yun. Mabait ang papa ko kay Edmund, kahit isang negative comment, wala akong narinig na sinabi nya tungkol kay Edmund.

10. Yen is back from her two weeks break. My bilin before she left was for her to go to Hermes store and say hello to one of the sales staff. The staff no longer works there. Oyen took this photo to show me how long the line was. Puro Asians ah.
