OMB Tweets #6

People think I post everything about my life on Oh My Buhay, Hindi nga kasi maraming kwento that I don’t get to post or publish. My kwentos get overtaken by events. And because I am getting more forgetful, many of my daily encounters dissipated fast from my memory.

Some of the little things that I remember I am now putting on OMB Tweets, just some. These are mundane but the mere fact that my brains retained them, I’ll write them down before they too evaporate in thin air. OMB is my diary first and foremost so apologies to some readers who find my posts so mababaw.

1. I really like this antique ceramic vase from Italy. I contacted the store owner to ask for a discount. From P6,500 he agreed to lower it to P5,500 but my tawad was P5,000. It’s been a month but until now I haven’t decided whether to get it or not. We have plenty of broken ceramic decors na at home. Baka mabasag lang din ng mga maids. It’s still at the back of my mind. maybe it’s no longer there at the store. Someone else must have bought it already which would be better. At least I would be free from temptation.

2. It’s summertime. Meralco is scheduled to increase their rates this week. According to Kuryentipid tips, use pamaypay instead of electric fan. I suddenly remembered I have a blue one kept somewhere. When Aileen and I were still in elementary, we would paypay each other when it got very warm. Lalo nang mainit inside the kulambo. Para walang lamangan. Paypay me I’ll paypay you. We counted the number of paypay. One, two, three, up to number 10. Then it would be my turn, one two three, up to number 10. Then her turn again, and so on, till both of us fall asleep. We only reach up to the second round. We get tired easily so there’s no way to go but sleep fast.

3. Traffic here, there and everywhere. I am imagining I live in a less chaotic city, where the breeze is cold and clean, maybe in a countryside somewhere in Tuscany, where I can drive a top-down sedan. #imustbedreaming

4. Derrick gave Oyen one big sunflower and a few Malaysian mums to brighten up her day. The sunflower stayed up for a couple of days, then it dropped dead.

5. Antonia said a certain Det brought the boxes of bibingka and called her “Antonia!”. “Siguro sinabi ni sir na ako si Antonia”. “Mam, ang gandang babae at masayahin sya”.
When I opened the boxes, they’re mamon, not bibingka.

7. I have several barako coffee trees that are now bearing fruits. In a few weeks they are ready for the picking. I bought a small Braun coffee grinder. I want to grind the beans before I give them away.

8. Watched the movie Focus starring Will Smith. I would say it’s good but I wasn’t sure if I enjoyed watching it.

Nyke was with us during the mass, dinner, yogurt, but not to the movie. He was attending his friend’s birthday celebration at Universe Gastrolounge and Nightclub in Resorts World Manila.

9. Selling of pre-owned bags is big business. Someone is trying to sell me her Birkin but I already have. Edmund said hindi daw sulit ang Birkin kasi nga bihira lang ginagamit.

We were walking around Eastwood Mall and found ourselves standing in front of the Exquisite Bags store. They have dozens of Birkin bags on display. Some are brand-new.

The green pala is also nice.

10. My mom called this gadget some Tagalog name. Oh God, I couldn’t remember anymore. Every house in Binangonan had this. This is what we use to crush the garlic and luya.

Since when did the shape changed into something that looks like a guy’s birdie? Does this now have double purpose other than a garlic/ginger press?
