Our village admin sent me a copy of the statement of account of a lot owner (veteran actress, contemporary of Susan Roces, etc. ) regarding her request for a half-million peso discount on her overdue account. I got so confused what this was all about. Milyon dues lang? I couldn’t believe that a homeowner could accumulate this much obligation from the subdivision’s annual dues? I commisserate with the owner but at the same time I recognize that it is her duty to pay for her share in the upkeep of the village.
I went over each entry and realized the big increase in yearly dues. The late payment charges also ballooned the outstanding amount.
