Santorini claims to have one of the best sunsets in the world.
When my husband heard some of our companions asking Mark about the sunset, he said it’s the same sun, that all sunsets should be the same.
Depending on the season and condition of the weather, Manila Bay sometimes has a spectacular-looking sunset.
I’ve seen a mesmerizing sunset in India and in Turkey too. One time I was visiting my sister in California and while we were walking to the parking lot, the sky displayed an amazing array of amber and crimson colors coming from the sunset.
Let’s see if the sunset in Santorini is indeed spectacular. You be the judge.

I was standing on the second-floor stairs of a restaurant in Oia together with several others taking photos. I did not have a good vantage point. I also did not have a camera capable of capturing not only the finest of details but also the depth of what was supposed to be a spectacular display of colors.
There are many places in Santorini where you can experience an unobstructed view of the sunset like on a sunset cruise where you don’t have to compete with other tourists to take a good shot of the sun and the rays diving into the water. You may also have a drink at the Cafe del Mar in Fira. There are lots of spots where you can have a good view without being bothered by the crowd of travelers.
