My sister and I were talking yesterday about children of relatives, acquaintances, strangers, getting afflicted of serious illnesses.
The cute little 6 month old baby at a birthday party we attended to in California last July had chemotherapy recently because he has leukemia.
My sister saw Jessica Soho’s television feature on three male siblings, two had died of cancer of the liver, while the youngest one is also showing signs of having the same deadly disease. We cannot fathom why this would happen to their family.
I borrowed this video from youtube. This is the wedding of one of the siblings, Rowden Go who married his girlfriend Leizel, while he’s fighting for his life. The one who uploaded this was his equally good-looking brother, Chef Hasset Go who also died of liver cancer at age 30.
And there were good children who died of accidents. The one and only sibling of a former congressman died from a vehicular accident. Yun din dalaga ni Bobby, si Patricia. Yun ding anak ni Bobby Guevarra.
We also talked about children getting derailed by their indiscretions, wrong decisions, lack of interest in going to school, etc.
We cannot expect our children to be perfect, to make all perfect decisions. We too are imperfect. We too make wrong decisions. We too are incapable of achieving the highest goals.
Never mind if she is not a valedictorian in school, never mind if once in a while he/ she defies your wishes. Never mind na if they are makalat at home. Or parang hindi pa nya alam ang direksyon ng buhay nya.
What’s more important is that our children are here with us, they are healthy, they are happy. Let’s just cherish every waking moment that we are able to hug them.

Hi OMB, It is so sad that nobody wanted to know or make a research why a six year old baby at that very young age had a leukemia. There must be cause why the baby had this disease and nobody wanted to know or discussed about it. I think it has something to do with the mother, may be she was taking a cancerous birth control pills, then suddenly the pills did not work on the baby– he was born. The baby got all the cancerous chemicals the pills contained. They are all in the body of the baby, at the same time the mother will be having cancer, too, pretty soon. And yet, nobody in the pharmaceutical industry would like to do something because the birth control pill is their salable products. It is the pharmaceutical industry’s secret. No one has discovered yet, that that is the culprit. They are trying to avoid class action suit or their profitable products will be gone. They don’t care about humanity, all they want is money.
