Oyen has been cramming to finish her masteral thesis. It is doubly hard for her because she is extremely busy in the office and she doesn’t have the time to work on her thesis even at night.
She wants to graduate in August together with her batch mates. But based on her meeting with the professor, she might not be able to defend her thesis in time for the cut-off because the school’s schedules are full till end of May.
Oyen, Nyke, and I are traveling towards the end of May. I asked if she wants to stay behind so she could get it done and over with. Ayaw naman. Good that her honors standing won’t be affected in case she doesn’t go up the stage in August.
No bearing daw, mainam naman, kasi sayang.
Galing naman ng anak ko. Hindi sa akin mana.
She’s assured of a silver medal and could qualify for a gold medal depending on her thesis outcome. Tutoo kayang gold yun?
There’s no doubt in my mind na kayang-kaya nya yan because she knows more than her professors and the panels when it comes to the subject matter. She breathes cars everyday. She can defend her thesis even without any notes.
Off she went to Ateneo to submit the book-bound copies. May 9 is the deadline which is today.
Note that she only enrolled in Ateneo to meet new friends. She only wanted to develop new friendships kasi nga she was away for 5 years. Nawala na mga friends nya. She had no desire to get an MBA in Ateneo.
I was asking her to go back to school in the US pero ayaw ng sumunod. Sinuway ako. Kasi daw she would lose friends again. After a few weeks in Ateneo, she hated it and wanted to drop-out. She continued only to be in touch with friends and new classmates, hayun, natyaga rin. A diploma is just icing in the cake. The silver or gold medal is flower on top of the icing.
I told her after she graduated from high school that she could get married after she finished her MBA. Pwede ka ng mag-asawa anak. Tila nag break na si Prince Harry at yung girlfriend nya.
