We had dinner last Sunday at Gloria Maris (again) in Greenhills. This time, instead of going to the Shabu-shabu area, we ate at the dimsum area.
My son ordered a small plate of Chinese Lechon Kawali. It’s not included in the dimsum menu but a cross-order from the main dining hall or the lauriat area.
I was aghast when it arrived. The lechon was one and a- half the size of my celphone and as thin as Edmund’s I-phone 4S. For over six hundred bucks (P500 + tax + service charge) it was a big rip-off. We would never order this from Gloria Maris again.
It looks bigger here in the picture because I took the picture upclose.
Oyen’s favorite hakao and siao long bao
If you are fond of this crispy squid, go to Phoa instead and order their spicy and crispy squid.
Seafood crispy noodle. The serving’s size was sufficient but it was lacking in sahog and taste. It’s swimmming in corn starch and the noodles are pasty.
Edmund ordered this giant siopao.
I did not touch it nor did my kids. Edmund did not finish it. The dough was very thick.
Never mind if some of Gloria Maris’ dishes need improvement. Never mind if the Chinese lechon was a rip-off. The best thing is this is a family eating and bonding time. Cheers !
