A growing number of OMB readers rely on my posts with regards to restaurants to visit. Let me clarify that mine is not a food blog. I am far from being a food blogger. Please note that the only reason why restaurants are ever mentioned on Oh my buhay is because me, my kids or my whole family, all of us have been there.
One of my avid readers is a part owner of a restaurant. She admitted to me that they paid for their citation or award as one of Philippines top restaurants. The plaque displayed at their restaurant’s entrance that had been given to them did not come without any cost. Hindi yun libre, like Hey masarap pala food nyo and good service, eto ang award nyo. Gift certificates, free dining, ad sponsorship in magazines, etc. They were approached and offered to be featured in exchange for those I mentioned above.
In fairness to her, I dined at their restaurant one afternoon even before she discovered my blog. The food was really good. Hindi na lang ako nakabalik because it was out of the way from where I work and live.
