June 4, 2018
PAL changed their departure time which created a lot of confusion. Flight usually leaves at midnight and sometimes even if they were delayed, the departure date indicated is the night of check-in. This time, the flight leaves at past midnight and the departure indicated was the date of departure. Some people checked in only to be told “ay sir, nakalipad na ang eroplano, kagabi pa”. Because of many complaints from passengers I heard PAL will revert back to their usual schedule this coming July.
I thought our flight was on June 4 evening, yun pala, June 4 ng past midnight. We lost a day. I thought I would still be able to rest, go to Costco, wala na, empake na agad and alis.
Mother Earth must be very pleased with Oyen. She doesn’t use plastic straws and disposable chopsticks. She carries her water jug along and refills it when necessary. No disposable plastic bottles for her. No plastic shopping bags too.
The flight was full. All seats were occupied considering there were two flights a night. It must be peak season. Good for PAL.
As I was getting settled in my seat the purser approached and greeted me. She said my name and told me she followed Oh My Buhay. We met daw at the flight from Honolulu. Then I remembered oo nga nakipagkwentuhan ako sa kanya kasi the flight was turbulent and I wanted to deviate my attention from both nervousness and boredom. It was also an opportunity to make friends. She started following OMB daw since then. Cute naman ni Gina.
PAL makes me fat with all those delicious food.
The flight was generally smooth with only a few moderate bumps.
How many times do they serve us food?
I keep saying I have sugar overload but I don’t stop eating sweets. I should learn how to say no thank you.
Haagen-Dazs’s strawberry ice cream is simply irresistible.
Purser Gina Cuesta brought me several goodies, Pili Nut, Butterscotch bar, chocolate, for my snacks daw. She told me these were proudly Philippine made.
Pili nut and butterscotch bars.
I was able to sleep for a few hours because I took 1/4 tablet of Bonamine. Buti na lang we were seated away from the crying babies. There were at least 4 in that section.
When I woke up it was time to eat again.
The grapes were crunchy and sweet.
My favorite PAL meal, bangus belly or pinais na bangus.
My husband doesn’t like my aqua carry on luggage, doybads daw. Paano kaya ito naging baduy? Ang cute-cute nga at saka ang gaan-gaan pa. At ang cheap-cheap pa.
We landed at NAIA 1.
I paid the porter / cashier 250 pesos (50/luggage). Be sure to ask for receipts equivalent to what you paid for. P50 / receipt / baggage.
Tip is extra and it goes to the porter.
