I left Makati at exactly 3 pm and reached Ford EDSA at 5 pm. I was supposed to prepare some letters but got too tired from the two hour traffic. Although I dozed-off for a few minutes, parang napasama pa kasi masama ang gising ko. I felt tired, and not well.
By 6 pm, I heard thunderstorms and pouring rain. At 6:15 I started hearing vehicles honking their horns. I somehow felt the commotion outside at EDSA. The rain continued and became harder. I must leave before I get stranded. By this time, the wall in the hallway leading to Edmund’s private toilet and bath was like a waterfall. There’s a leak coming from wall. Walang waterproofing. I moved the files and boxes that were lined up on the floor.
When I went out of the room, rain was still incessant and by this time, vehicles have slowed down.
I was not worried of flood because that part doesn’t really get submerged in deep water. I was surprised that in half hour, the volume of water has filled the wide road. Vehicles were veering towards the left side away from the knee deep water. We had no choice but to pass thru that portion because that’s the way going to our house. Baha na talaga. When we reached the village gate, the guards partially closed the gate to prevent vehicles from running into thigh high water because baha na rin.
I think it’s not the volume of water that were dumped in half hour.
Now we we are all suffering.
It rained again this afternoon. I was caught somewhere in Mandaluyong while trying to avoid EDSA traffic.
I was so unhappy. The water rose rapidly.

Teen boys were having fun bathing in the rain. I remembered when I was young, that what we did also, when it’s raining.
I wanted to go to a place in Greenhills, but with the two hour travel time aggravated by this heavy rain and flash floods, I hurried home, otherwise my two hour travel could double.
I saw a foreigner waiting for the rain to stop. I hope he’s loving it here, this is life in the Philippines.
