November 6 Paris
We had nothing else to do but to kill time at the hotel lobby. It was too cold outside and our legs were tired of walking. Our flight was at 9:15 pm and Edmund arranged for our pick-up to come four hours before departure.
We had an hour more so we went to the hotel’s small cafe. We sat by the window so we could see when our sundo arrives.
Edmund ordered a chocolate cupcake and coffee. Naki-share lang ako sa kanya. I felt I was having some sugar surge because I ate two pieces of Laduree vanille macarons and I tasted one piece from Maison de la chocolat. They all were super tamis, grabe tila isang kilong asukal ang laman.
After eating those super sweet tiny macarons, this cupcake tasted so tabang.
Emirates continued to impress us. We arranged for a complimentary pick-up from Chateau Frontenac to Charles de Gaulle Airport and the limo was there 20 minutes before the scheduled time 5:15.
He brought a compact Audi hindi kasya baggage namin. He placed the smaller piece in the front seat.
The guy dropped us off right in front of the Emirates check-in counter. He was courteous and professional. We were really impressed. Edmund gave him 10 Euro tip.
na-guilty sya pagkatapos, tila kulang daw.
Check-in was quick. We were given na rin our boarding passes for Dubai to Manila leg.
I had a tax free refund and had to wait in line for a long time because there were more than a dozen Chinese with lots and lots of tax refund forms. Mukhang ang dami nilang na-shopping. Dami nilang pera talaga. They have replaced the Koreans and the Japanese.
All of a sudden, I felt sick. I took Ponstan and a tiny speck of Bonamine. My gentleman husband volunteered to stand in line on my behalf.
Finally after 30 minutes, I got my refund of 18 Euro. Yes, don’t laugh. Konti lang naman nabili ko. And, you only get a tax refund form when you buy a minimum of 175 Euro per store. Not total shopping, but per store.
Actually I had another 18 Euro refund, to be credited to my credit card. Unfortunately, my dear husband mistakenly dropped the form in the yellow Post box, not in the tax refund box. Eh wala yung postage stamp. So goodbye refund.
Before going through the security gates, we went to the toilets. I washed my hand and sprinkled cold water on my batok, kasi nahihilo ako. The water from the faucet was ice cold.
