Pomegranate - Oh My Buhay

I first discovered the pomegranate fruit during my first visit to India in 2007 when I was having breakfast at the Oberoi in Mumbai.  I just became curious and tasted the fruits and voila,  I never stopped going back to the buffet table.

During my last February’s stay at the Oberoi, I would request for 2 glasses of fresh squeezed pomegranate juice every morning.   It’s actually bottomless because it’s included in the complimentary buffet.   Oh my,  trust me,  it’s so divine.

And stay at the Oberoi,  they have impeccable service.  But make sure you negotiate for a low rate kasi Oberoi is top class,  of course it’s top dollar too.

Pomegranate is rich in anti oxidants and prevents the development of cancer cells.

It is an ancient fruit and dates back to the Exodus.   It originated  from Persia, Pakistan and Northern India.  The early Spanish settlers brought it to Latin America and California where it is now widely cultivated mainly for juice production.

The city of Granada, Spain was named after this fruit.

We have a local fruit called granada,  they may be the same.

  1. I first tasted pomegranate when we were in Denmark and it quickly became my favorite fruit also. Super mura pa sya compared to the occasional ones that I see in supermarkets here in Manila or in weekend markets.

Na-addict na ako sa blog mo Miss Annie. I am backreading. Hehe!
