Every time I meet Filipinos and / or kabababayans living abroad, in this particular instance, in America, I feel proud. I am proud of their tenacity and perseverance to succeed in their newfound home. I am proud that they bring with them their education, skill, good attitude.
When I went to have my eyebrows done on January 24, I excused myself while the beautician was preparing the tools. I went down to a Vietnamese tea house. The service took so long. I heard two guys speaking in Tagalog about some cabinets. Pakialamera naman ako “Anong cabinet ang pinag-uusapan ninyo?”
They apparently have just moved in to their respective houses in this area and they are still in the process of installing some closets.
They both sounded happy and proud of their brandnew houses, both 5 bedrooms, in a high-end neighborhood, I also feel proud of them. That’s a very good accomplishment.
