I could not believe what had just happened to me during the flight.

Delta provided us with regular-sized pillows and quilts which were individually wrapped in plastic.
I took out the pillow and placed my handbag inside this plastic. it completely covered my bag and I even knotted the top part of the plastic, talagang syut na syut.

Before we got off the plane in Narita, I removed the plastic and neatly folded it and placed it inside my bag. As soon as we boarded the next flight, this time from Narita to SFO, I immediately placed my handbag again inside this big plastic bag and knotted the top part, para talagang covered na covered.

lv covered with plastic

My husband kidded me that every single person in the plane already knows that my bag is authentic because I even covered it in plastic.

Throughout the flight, I did not mind the inconvenience of untieing the knot everytime I would get something from my bag. At one point, I left the plastic open because I was getting the Vicks bottle.
But after 5 minutes, for some reason, I covered my bag again and tied the plastic’s top part. Talagang my bag was fully covered. Edmund was probably feeling asiwa, kasi hirap na hirap ako tieing and untieing the plastic. “Bakit di mo na lang iwan nakabukas, he said. Pero binalot ko pa rin.

When the stewardess asked my husband what he wanted to drink, Edmund said “red wine please”.
So there was the wine glass filled with red wine sitting on the space between me and Edmund.

And my bag was sitting between my two feet.

Then all of a sudden, Edmund said “Oh Sh…..i……t!
Then all of a sudden a very cold liquid splashed on my left foot.
Then all of a sudden, Annie me screamed “OH MY GOD, MY BAG!!” Oh my God, Oh my God, My Bag!

When I looked at my bag, it was covered in red plastic, dripping with red wine.
Oh my God, My Bag

(Edmund told me afterwards that it’s good the plane’s engines were noisy otherwise all the passengers would have heard my screams).

I could not believe what has just happened. I wiped and wiped and wiped the plastic bag, with my handbag still inside it. I could not untie it because it was dripping, the wine would definitely drip on my bag and would ruin it. The steward brought some more white face towels which I used to wipe off the wine from the plastic. He also cleaned the floor. They kept asking about my leg and feet, I could feel the liquid that completely soaked my left foot but my only concern at that moment was to save my bag.

After I have secured my bag, I looked at my feet, parang puro dugo, pati kuko ko parang may red polish.
My left leg was also wet. Swerte pa rin ako, I was really intending to wear a pair of light brown suede shoes I bought last June in Saks 5th Avenue in Union Square. I thought brown matches my bag. But last minute, I decided to wear this plastic sandals instead because it’s easier to take off during airport security checks. Buti na lang!
