Renu and Dr. Ian Casimiro - Oh my buhay

Renu and Dr. Ian Casimiro

My posts are no longer in sequence as they happen. I have trouble remembering the dates.

November 4, 2015

While we were having breakfast at the Sofitel, a young couple seated too close to ours caught our attention. They were going through the Budapest tour guide. I could hear what they were mumbling about… “hop on hop off…”. “…New York Cafe”. “Basilica”. “Opera”.

Omb—-“Tart, turuan mo nga kung pa’no”

The tsismosa in me ruled. I asked them where they’re from, when did they arrive, etc.

They’re from Los Angeles, and Budapest would be their last stop.

Renu was looking at my LV bag. We started talking about the LV store. When she found out I would be going to Vienna, she wanted to give me money so I could buy her an LV when I am in Vienna. She has a photo of the bag and it looked like a big speedy. I told her she should just have bought it. It was cheaper by about $300 than the US price. Not counting the tax refund of about 15%. Sayang. They were in a hurry daw. Ian told her “let’s go, let’s go”.

I thought of buying it for her but I am afraid I might make a mistake.
I could send the bag thru my sister who’s joining me to Vienna. Since Aileen lives in California, she could ship the bag to Renu. Perfect scenario.

She was disappointed not to find the particular bag at the LV store in Budapest. kasi nga that store is smaller than the flagship store in Vienna. Tyempo rin depending on the style you are looking for. If you’re not particular about a specific style and just want to buy a bag, then the Budapest store is a nice place to visit kasi the prices are also lower than in Manila and America. We bought two bags there last April, sunglasses, scarf and shoes.

Renu is a social worker. Born in India but moved to the US when she was a baby. She and Ian have been dating for two years. She speaks Indian and her parents still maintain a house in Punjab. A servant takes care of their house. She invited me to come visit Punjab and stay at their house.

Edmund encouraged them to come visit the Philippines next year. They are traveling in April and are thinking of going to Asia.

Dr. Ian Casimiro, 32, works at the Kaiser Medical Center in LA. He was born in the US but he’s a full blooded Filipino. Doesn’t speak Tagalog though. I always feel hinayang when I meet a Filipino who couldn’t speak Tagalog. I always blame the parents.
