I wish there were more open spaces in Manila and with lots of trees too. But this would not happen in our country. If we have a space this big, the local government would sell it to SM or Megaworld, or Century Properties. In our subdivision nga, they sold the open space to a resident so the homeowners could renovate the clubhouse, with a VERBAL agreement that the 2,000 square meter vacant lot would only be used as a garden. Hayan, a big house and swimming pool are being built now. That was when we weren’t living there yet. Aside from that, a 5,000 square meter space wants to be subdivided and sold as residential land to raise half a billion pesos, I don’t know for what compelling purpose. We do not know how to value SPACE. We need open spaces to breathe, to escape, to relax. Availing of free aircon inside Megamall or Shangrila Mall is not the same as having a public park. A public park is not defined as the roof top of SM Aura. Think of oxygen and trees.
The avenue is still two kilometers away, sakit na legs ko.
8:00—– Tricycle to Champs Elysees
Euro7.50 per person. The driver said the third person is free. I paid him Euro 15 for the 3 of us. Kaya naman libre ang pangatlo kasi hindi kasya, If you’re balakang is as wide as this avenue, the tricycle is only good for two pwets.
Oyen still remembers buying a travel guide book to New York at this Virgin Store 10 years ago. The store is now closed. She was going to college in NY that’s why she bought that book. Last week, she said she was clearing her stuff when she saw that book, with the receipt neatly tucked in one of the pages.
I brought them to Raymund store where I bought the truffle salt in November 2013. It’s inside a shopping complex along Champs Elysee.
Oyen likes this for the homemade potato chips. I bought two bottles na nga, mabilis maubos. Nyke naman likes dijon mustard. I bought one small bottle of truffle mustard.

Postcards
Thousands of tourists do this. They take pictures while stuck in the middle of the very wide avenue with Arc de Triomphe in the background. It’s cool but dangerous. The cars are fast and the middle portion is not even an island. It’s less than a yard wide to stand on. There’s no protection from wayward vehicles.
