April 25, 2015 Saturday
Our tour started today with a walk to the square where we first discovered the Hungarian flat bread. It was more or less one kilometer walk on cobblestones. Then we walked back the same way to the front of our hotel. There was no prior announcement from the tour coordinator, it turned out they just walked to the square to withdraw some money from the ATM. I was annoyed. I was trying to preserve my energy. I told her there should be an announcement so that we know where we are going, what we are doing. So we don’t follow blindly. She didn’t explain. She turned her back and continued walking.
We walked to the river ride bus stop at the Szechenyl Sq near Four Seasons Hotel Apparently, the next activity or the first activity would be a little bit of drive-by tour then a splash on the river Danube while riding on the same bus.
We were given earphones. I was hesitant to use it because the ear sponge could be dirty or contaminated. How many dozens of people have placed those on their ears? Naligo kaya sila?
Sige na nga, or else I would not hear the pre-recorded audio tour guide
This would be a one hour and forty five minutes tour.
The bus drove-by some old buildings. HIndi ko naman matandaan kung anu-ano yon.
We reached the ramp to the river. Then we took the plunge. This bus is amazing. We need something like this in the Philippines.
The floating bus is the one and only vehicle in Budapest which can run on land and water.
Parliament Building
Royal Palace
The ride back to the ramp felt so long. I dozed off covered with my black sweater. Grabe and init. Daig ko pa nag sun-bathing.
The bus driver stopped to look under the bus or boat or amphibian, We hit a dead shark according to the tour guide.
A Hungarian wears brief only while cleaning his car.
This was supposed to be a cool way for sightseeing but our excitement was overshadowed by the intense heat and sun’s rays peering thru the bus’ panoramic windows. It was really very very hot. I used my black sweater to cover my head, shoulders, right arm and face, hindi pa rin, ramdam ko pa rin ang init. Ang bagal pa mandin ng takbo.
It would have been more enjoyable if it’s not too hot. Mas presko pa sa labas ng bus.
Overall it was a good activity. Bring sunglasses and something to protect you from the sun.

The amphibian looks interesting and a nice way to see the sights. I’d melt in that heat too. Too bad they didn’t have AC to keep things cool. That is ridiculous that your tour guide would drag you to the ATM. At the very least, they could’ve made it more entertaining with stories of the area so you wouldn’t notice that stop 1 was the bank machine. Have a safe and happy trip.
