Roaring Thunder and Habagat

Tuyo- bagay na bagay sa bagyo ang breakfast namin kahapon.

Eto naman kaninang umaga.

I was awakened by a very loud roaring thunder at 3:30 this morning. It was followed by lightning, and after a minute, several more thunders came.

I got scared because it sounded so close, parang it was coming right above our roof deck. I tried to just close my eyes but the lightning flashed so brightly. Since we have tall and wide windows, I was afraid the lightning could pierce through our glass windows.

I stood up after it stopped and looked out our front window. It was still raining.

According to scientists, there would be lightning showers soon, because that’s one of the bad effects of global warming. I told Edmund today that we should have a basement, in case something like that happens.

Rain today was heavier than yesterday. Yesterday was intermittent. Beginning last night, the rain poured continuously. Parang gripo.

Every year we have the same scenes.

Masarap sanang matulog but we have many things to worry about— Umapaw na ba yung creek beside our parking in Pasong Tamo?

I took out some clothes from my cabinet for the flood victims. Kokonti na because we regularly gave-away clothing even when there’s no calamity. There’s always a box beside our altar for stuff we want to give away. It’s not unusual to find unused clothing with tag prices pa.

Size small Stefanel. I give up, hindi na’ko papayat.

This is fairly new. I haven’t even worn it.

I bought this in Shanghai. It only came in one size, and it’s small. I bought it anyway hoping I would lose weight. It’s not going to happen. I am now XXL so I will just donate this.

It was difficult to part with the dasters my mother gave me even if they’re tattered already. I am hanging on to them for sentimental reason. I only have about two pieces na lang. I gave away most of them during Ondoy.

Habagat (southwest monsoon) comes every year so we should always be prepared.
Expect that the flooding would get worse, not better.
