Saint- Tropez in Balesin

From the guest villas in Mykonos, the free jeepney tour brings us next to the French-themed villas named after Saint- Tropez, a coastal town in the French Riviera.
Balesin Island Club captures some of the architectural characteristics of Provence, in the south of France. The real St. Tropez in Cote de Azur is a favorite among jet setters for its beaches, bars, restaurants. It is probably one of the most popular beach resorts in Europe.

The place was so quiet when we entered the main lobby. We only saw one person there at the reception desk near the entrance. Pero napansin ko, hindi sila nagtitipid sa kuryente, ang ginaw, naka full blast ang aircon dito. Siguro para ready for the tour guests.

The receptionist said every item here was personally handpicked by the owner himself, Mr. Ongpin. I didn’t quite believe that every little item passed his scrutiny because with the magnitude of this place, how could Mr. Ongpin do that? Siguro he did not go around the south of France looking for vases and jars. But then I could be mistaken.

One thing that baffles me is the number of swimming pools in each village. They constructed not just one, in some locations, merong tatlo. Maybe they were anticipating more people would swim, so they don’t crowd each other.

I’ve been to the southern part of France a few times in the past, teka bilangin ko, one… two… three… Tila three times yata. I frankly didn’t pay attention to the colors around me or I didn’t notice the colorful furniture used by the hotels and restaurants. I am trying to recall in my mind the general color palette. It’s been several years, hindi ko matandaan na. Siguro nga.

There are several living areas in the main lobby. There is not a single guest today so the whole village is actually closed but one could go around to visit and make usyoso the place. It is soooo very nice to just sit here inside because the sun is blazing outside. 42 degrees? Crazy global warming.

I went to the toilet on the lower floor. Beside it is a hexagonal room decorated with a huge Buddha in the middle. I thought that is queer because all of a sudden nagkameron ng Buddha sa France! It totally transforms you from the south of France to Tibet. This room is called the Nirvana Lounge. I at first didn’t think of it as a bar lounge. Kala ko talaga nung una it’s a place for guests to relax, meditate and pray. Bagay ‘to sa mga couples, yung 8 hours pa lang in a relationship. They can be as intimate as they can be. The place is cozy, lots of throw pillows. Pwedeng magkuchi-kuchi-coo.

There are three rooms always ready for future guests. Parang showroom syempre to encourage people to come back and check in here. How much daw? Tila P40,000+++ a night! Get a membership so that you get to stay for free.

I am guessing this is called the yellow room. Everything is sienna yellow.

This is a two-bedroom suite pala. Kaya pala naman mahal. There are two identical yellow rooms both with large bed either a king or a queen.

The toilet has touches of yellow too. I like the fact that they have generous space standards. They provide generally large bedrooms and bathrooms.
