My sari-sari days:
Thank you Attorneys Alvin and Mildred Romero for this pretty Christmas card. It arrived two days ago. It’s not yet late. Chinese NY is end of this month still.
Our Christmas tree has been transformed into a chekwang tree.
Our family relishes the cold breeze this past two weeks. I wish summer wouldn’t be chilly hot.
I either wear a cardigan or bring a shawl every time I go out these days. Maginaw sa kotse.
Fettuccine with left over ham
We opened a big can of foie gras which has been sleeping in our ref for months. It’s about to expire next month so I had it fried. Foie gras is expensive in fine dining restaurants and they give only a small portion.
We have a lot and they don’t look appetizing. Pangit ang plating.
Oyen brought home Chinese ulam.
Crispy noodles
I can finish a big plate of yang chow fried rice even without ulam. Basta merong toyo.
Our pool’s plumbing broke. The plastic pipes got brittle after 7 years. Plumber came to fix it but first, he had to drain a fourth of the water.
P10 soft serve ice cream from Mcdo drive through in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Pansit sotanghon for breakfast, medyo matabang, kulang sa patis.
Fresh ripe mangoes. Merong mga tuldok tuldok, parang naulanan ba yan?
Lusot na ba sa kaso sa PDAF and Napoles scam sila Senators Bong Revilla and Jinggoy Estrada, at iba pa?
Lumpiang shanghai with sawsawan sa suka.
Edmund to me———– “Bakit iba ang sa’yo?”.
A———————- “Sa’yo chili sauce, ayaw ko nun, mas bagay itong suka”.
Everything is getting smaller including toilet papers. My butt is getting bigger, not smaller.
Very expensive potatoes,
Very expensive groceries. Kaya nga I don’t want to go to the supermarket. They screw my credit card bills.
I bought a pack of Nissin wafer- my son’s favorite.
Husband is having dinner out with his golf buddies, my daughter is at school and would go out with a suitor later, my son has eaten. I made my own dinner— salad.
Perfect food for single diner: three kinds of lettuce and arugula salad with manchego cheese, fresh California seedless grapes, parma ham.
Instead of Gruyere, I put Manchego cheese for a stronger taste. I prefer the 6 month old Manchego. The older it gets, the stronger the taste becomes. It complemented the arugula. I mixed them with fresh grapes to break the strong tastes of the cheese and arugula. The grapes kind of washes my mouth with it’s sweet juice.
Perfect dressing— organic, no dairy, no oil.
While I was eating, I told our maid Jo, to open the window. Para pumasok yung lamig.
She opened the sliding screen, but left the glass window closed.
