My daughter and I got so lucky. The 13th of December became one of our more memorable nights. The two of us watched the meteor shower at midnight.
We lied down on a folded balikbayan box, covered with blanket and thick jackets.
That was me, camping out at 12 midnight on a starry starry night waiting for falling stars.
Sabi nung araw, when you see a meteor, a shooting star or a bulalakaw, close your eyes and make a wish. Your wish will come true. I first saw a bulalakaw when I was sitting on our roof in Binangonan. I think I was still in primary school. The second time was when I was already in my twenties.
I no longer remember what I wished for but I am 100% sure they both came true. #thanksLord
And then….. on December 13, 2017, imagine I was given lots of chances again to make a wish, and maybe all of them would come true.
I went out to the backyard wishing to see one shooting star only. But guess what? I had the great blessing of witnessing at least twenty one falling stars. Yes, TWENTY ONE. Twenty one wishes! I actually ran out of wishes. I gave away my wishes na nga. I wished for world peace. I wished for all of you’s prosperity and good health.
The shooting stars moved rapidly across the sky then faded out in a few seconds.

This night was really special. My daughter and I were blessed with this rare experience of seeing lots and lots of shooting stars and making lots and lots of wishes. Thank you Lord.
It was freezing cold outside. If not for that I would have stayed out the whole night waiting for every falling star.
Happy New Year!
Thank you Ms. Annie for sharing your wishes!
