We are joining the Scenic Japan Tour Package which starts today.
Edmund woke-up at 4am and went online. He checked us all in and paid extra P1,599 per person per trip to change our seats to Economy Comfort. This online check in is convenient on Delta Airlines because Delta has an efficient website. You can see the actual seats which allows you to choose according to your preference and seat availability.
As much as possible, we choose seats that are closer to the front or in the middle. Delta’s Economy Comfort seats also give a few inches leg room For Edmund’s long legs.
It only took 15 minutes to get to NAIA Terminal 1 at 5:30 a.m. We are bringing 5 luggage because the winter clothes are bulky. This is the hassle of going to a cold country, you can’t simply travel light.
there’s a bear sitting on the security guard’s chair at the entrance to the terminal’s gates
I ate a small bowl of lugar at the Delta Sky Lounge
Last security check before boarding. Edmund bought this new pair of shoes specially for this trip. We the store clerk heard that he’s going to Tokyo, the guy said “Sir pupunta kayo sa Tokyo, pwede ba akong sumama?”
Delta flight 172 took off ontime and I didn.t even notice that we were already flying. I fell asleep even before it’s doors were closed.
I just woke up when the breakfast was being served.
I chose ham and egg with potato. Hmm not good.
Edmund was so engrossed watching Batman and was disappointed when the
movie was switched off because we were already landing in Tokyo.
I was able to watch “Date Night” starring Ben Stiller and Tina Fey. I didn’t finish the last 5 minutes.
Our tour package includes round trip economy seats, Edmund paid P1,599 per person per trip so we could seat in the Economy Comfort. This is the business class section.
It was a smooth flight. I immediately felt so cold as soon as we deplaned.
I went to the dressing room and layered-up. I wore thermal pants, two more shirts and 2 jackets. It’s so heavy on the nape.
Welcome to Japan. This is Julienne’s 2nd trip and maybe a dozen times stop-over on her way to JFK. This is my son’s first trip to Japan plus two stop-overs to JFK. This is my 3rd trip plus 8 stop-overs to SFO and JFK. This is Edmund’s 4th trip plus dozens of stop-overs to SFO and JFK. He and Julienne have been to Hiroshima courtesy of Ford.
We exchanged $ to Yen at the airport, Ako $500, Edmund $200, Oyen $100, Nyke $100 to Yen
A nice woman named Yoko welcomed our tour group at Narita airport. She was our guide for today, she said her namesakes are Yoko Ono and the puppy of Lady Gaga. She did not tell us thought her surnsme. Edmund said her surname is Dos. She’s Yoko Dos. Do you get his joke?
We were brought to Toyota Mega Web directly from Narita Airport. It was an hour drive which we took as an opportunity to catch up on sleep.
The Toyota Mega Web is an impressive showroom and Toyota’s History museum. Maybe if we’re not in the car business then we would be more impressed. But since we see cars everyday, It just feels like it’s an ordinary day.
We made a quick look at the cars then we crossed to the shoppin mall beside it, the Venus Fort. Instead of shopping at the outlet, we looked for food. It’s 3 pm and we haven’t had lunch yet.
There are many waffle cafes around Tokyo
and many dining areas for cats and dogs too.
So many stores selling pet’s clothes and accessories
We got the impression that pets here are spoiled
The photos of dishes were very helpful in choosing what we like
We found this eatery with the fantastic ramen.
You could tell a good food by the first bite. The soup was very tasty. The chicken was so soft and delicious.
We all had a great meal. How we wished we had
more time, you know tour packages are time restricted so nagkampapaso kami sa pagmamadaling ubusin yung soup.
Notice the man sleeping behind Nyke
His date must really be boring
I highly recommend this food eatery.
Venus Fort takes on the same style as the Forum Mall in Las Vegas.
I wish we had 30 minutes extra to browse at the stores.
I want to try this on sana pero we were being called already. I would need 10 minutes just to get out of my layered clothes.
They brought us to a nearby mall called DiverCity.
High resolution cameras are all over the city. You cannot scratch your butt while walking at kung hindi, sira ang poise.
I forgot what I was trying to do, definitely not intending to scratch something.
We were given one and a half hour here. All we did was gawk at what kind of food they have.
I discovered the best siopao and I am right now craving for it.
The kids naman like the Hello Kitty shaped waffle with cheese filling. They went back several times.
While we were walking, we saw a number of people looking inside this store, so naki tingin kami and I took a photo of this people without really knowing what they were looking at.
A Japanese guy told me that no camera is allowed. I completely ignored him. He waved his hands again telling me in Japanese that no pictures. Apparently, this girl in yellow is probably a celebrity in Japan. But why would she go to a public mall with thousands of people, then prevent the public from taking her picture? If she’s artista, people would naturally want to take her picture. It’s like KC Concepcion going to Megamall and telling people not to take her picture.
I don’t know what this is but I found the word interesting to pronounce.
