Sci-fi, Hi-fi, Wi-fi, Slow-fi - Oh My Buhay

Sci-fi, Hi-fi, Wi-fi, Slow-fi

When Edmund and I were newly introduced to the world of fi’s, we got the terms mixed-up.
One Sunday noon, we walked into a restaurant and the minute we sat-down, Edmund inquired “may sci-fi ba, sci-fi?”
I was a little annoyed kasi I knew the term was not sci-fi. He’s embarrassing. How could he missed that?
I corrected him. “Sweetheart, hindi sci-fi—– Hi Fi! Tapos I rolled my eyes.

If not for my children, I had no desire to be a part of this wired world.
Little did I know that one day,I would be totally dependent on this fi-fi thing.
I am so stressed out today looking for a real hi-speed internet connection.

I took videos of the Holy Wednesday procession in Binangonan. I want to post them na kasi matatabunan na naman but uploading them is such a pain. Imagine, it would take 1,750 minutes to upload an 8 minute video clip? I left my computer running the whole night hoping that when I woke up this morning, at least two clips would be ready for posting. Naku, it said 750 minutes more, and that’s only for the first video clip.

I dragged my sister and Bong to the Starbucks closest to our house but their wi-fi daw was down. Eh pa’no yun? We’ve bought chicken empanada and corned beef pandesal already despite the fact that we’re busog pa, just so we had reason to occupy a table.

Our only consolation was that we were given mini Starbucks coffee for free tasting.

I went to the one in Metrowalk and same thing. Their wi-fi was down.
Thre’s a bagung-bago Ford Mustang with the Ford EDSA plate parked right infront of Starbucks’ entrance. When I showed Edmund this photo, he said-
“he’s my man”.

I went to Robinson’s Galleria but the mall was already closed. I couldn’t think of any other place that would still be open so I ran to EDSA Shangril=la Hotel.

Before I settled at their lobby, I asked first the food server if they have internet.
Me——–“Mabilis ba?”
lady—— “hmmmm…. minsan ano…..”
With that kind of answer, what could I expect? Ibig sabihin slow-fi also.
I found a spot closest to their glass window curtain trying to make do with their so-called hi-speed internet.
Ganun pa rin, uploading to You tube was still very slow. One minute remaining daw, eh 30 minutes na hindi pa tapos.

110

In about 10 minutes, the lobby was beaming with people. Pami-pamilya. Dito nagpe-penitensya.
112

I ordered buko juice pa mandin just so I could sit here. In retrospect, that was a mistake. Magbi- Visita Iglesia nga pala kami, naku, I have to wear senior citizen diapers.

I miss the extraordinarily fast internet connection in Park Lane Hotel HK. A five-minute video only took 2 minutes to upload. Not 1,750 minutes.

I hoped not to see anyone that I knew. I looked horrible. I came from the market. I was wearing my P50 bulaklaking tsinelas from Ralph Lauren orig-kuno I bought in Robinson’s Cainta.

114

Oohhh, Buko juice, Run to the banyo run. Wait, picture muna.
128

May wi-fi kaya dito? Dito kaya ako mag-blog? Mas tahimik pa.

I left at almost 4 pm without accomplishing anything. Sayang punta ko dito.

The violinist was good. I wish I could stay a few more minutes to listen.

  1. Good morning Ms. Annie! We were in Quezon province testing the limits of my kids gadgets when my son brought this up:
“Mommy, alam mo natuwa ako don sa fi-fi don sa ohmybuhay. Yong nagbigay ng Ford towel sa yo.”
“Ha, binabasa mo na rin yong blog na yon?”
“Nakabukas kasi e nong mag-net ako. Bakit?”
    “Nakakatuwa ba yong sinulat?”
    “Medyo, hehehee!”

Pati son ko Ms. Annie nagustuhan ang post ninyo. Eto yong part ng post na pinag-usapan namin:
