This is my second time in Doha, Qatar. The first time was an overnight stop over or lay-over with my children. This time is with my husband.
Although we were both tired and lacking sleep from the long flight from Clark, I went out of the hotel to buy his pantulog supplies and to eat. The only place I knew safe is the Villagio Mall in Al Waab Street, Aspire Zone.
Taxi
Edmund found the taxi ride long. The mall is really far from the airport area where our hotel is, the Oryx. Ilang beses kaming lumiko.
The taxi driver told us it’s Friday night, and payday, and family day.
all formula for a crowded night and potential traffic going back to hotel. True enough, there were throngs of people at the mall with little children in baby strollers.
Edmund needed shorts for sleeping and undies. He spent 15 minutes choosing and surfing thru the merchandise.

We spent half hour paying. There was only one cashier. I asked him if there are other cashiers, he answered to me in Tagalog. I was glad he didn’t address me as Ate or Manang, kung hindi maiinis ako. What’s wrong with being called ate or manang? Basta, merong akong jetlag, mainit ang ulo ko.
We left the mall right after surveying the crowd and the possible places to eat. No, no way. grabe ang ingay at nag gulu-gulo. Hilo na kami sa flight, mahihilo pa kami dito.
Mura siguro shampoo sa Qatar.
We took a ride back buti na lang no traffic. It was a little faster and we were more relaxed because we knew the way, kung saan liliko, kung saan kanto mag-i-stop.
Upon checking in, the front desk gave us two vouchers for 175 riyals each, to spend for our dinner or breakfast.
We spent one voucher for our dinner, 175 riyals exact.
Grilled chicken salad
Edmund left about a fourth of this spaghetti bolognese. Na-curious lang ako tinikman ko. Aba masarap, I finished all of it.
Buti pa si Edmund, mukha pa ring fresh at ma-energy. Me, I was dead tired. I only had two hours sleep the night before we left for our flight. And during the flight, I only dozed off for a few minutes because I was so nervous. Kitang-kita sa hitsura ko, mukha na akong lantang pechay Baguio na binagyo.
