Wanted: miracle from above

Edmund’s friend lost her two teen sons from a vehicular accident more than a year ago. Today, we learned that she was diagnosed with cancer of the colon, stage 4.
Her cancer has reached her liver so her doctor aunt recommended that she no longer be operated on. She would however, still, undergo chemotherapy. She’s around 40 years young.

I shed tears after learning that she’s sick. Edmund said she doesn’t deserve to suffer like that. I told him, no person deserves to lose his/her young child. Dalawa pa magkasabay. The fact that they died in a car accident inside their village made the pain even immeasurable. And now, she is seriously ill. Maybe the stress, deep depression, pain, sadness, triggered her sickness.

Over dinner, Edmund told me that we should try not to get stressed regardless of the reason. Yes, it’s easier said than done, but he said, we should try our best. He said even if it’s about money.

Lack of money creates stress on people. Of course, bills are as certain as the sun shining every morning, when they come and there’s no money in the bank, stress syempre yan.

There are so many things in life that give us stress. We can’t really avoid stress. Sana nga, pero parang kakambal na ng buhay yan.

Edmund wants to send his friend a message. But what does one say to a friend who’s suffering and there’s no cure but miracle from above?
