Ever since I fired Cherry, many things have already happened as far as our household maids are concerned. There have been two changing of the guards already so to speak in a span of two weeks.
I hired a new kusinera to replace Cherry. I was hesitant when the agency told me that she’s fat kasi we once had a chubby kusinera two years ago, and Edmund loses his appetite whenever she comes to serve food, kasi yung wet-pu nya, syempre pagnaglakad medyo parang tambol. I hired Nora anyway, hoping that Edmund wouldn’t mind. He didn’t, kasi masarap magluto, but one day he told Julienne that “she’s fat”. Julienne reacted… “Daddd!”
Edmund——– I am just saying she’s fat. Masarap syang magluto kaya we would all be fat like her!”
Getting fatter wouldn’t be our worry anymore because two days ago, I replaced all our maids. 3 first, then the next day one more. Why? They were quarrelling, again. I thought with Cherry out, there would be peace at home. But no. I was just away for two days (in Tagaytay with my son), as soon as I came home, hindi pa ako nakaka pag palit ng damit, sumbungan na silang apat. What did they quarrell about?
Nora the kusinera is fat, given.
Virgie the housecleaner is 52.
When Virgie first saw Nora, she asked her “Buntis ka ba?” (Oouch, I’ve heard that many times)
Nora answered—- “Hindi”
Virgie commented “Mataba ka pala”.
Nora was offended.
Virgie likes to watch tv, I saw her watching tv 90% of the time, 5% cleaning and 5% texting.
One afternoon, while Virgie was watching tv, there was a contestant na mataba. She said “Ay mataba pareho mo”.
Nora retaliated by calling Virgie “Matanda ka, Gago!” Kasi daw everyday na lang Virgie calls her fat.
Gyera patani na.
Virgie kasi is sexy. Her daughter works abroad. her daughter regularly sends her money. She just wants to work because she’s bored at home.
Me—- “Wow Virgie, ang ganda naman ng suot mo para kang aatend ng party.
Virgie- “mam P150 lang ito sa ukay-ukay”.
And what was the participation of Sandra and Vicky? They both made kampi with Virgie.
Why?
Allegedly, they hated Nora the kusinera because she refused to bury 4 kilos of kanduli that I bought from the market. She cooked sinigang na kanduli and the other maids did not like it. They tried to convince her to bury all of it including those still in the freezer.
They also resented when Nora stopped them from touching our food with their bare hands and opening our ref (the one in the family dining).
They also did not like it when Nora stopped them from getting the wine from our wine rack.
They also asked Nora to give to the basurero about 1/4 sack of rice which they claimed has a bad smell. That was not the best variety but it was P32/kilo.
(Vicky’s stuff. I have noticed that when a new maid comes, she only has a bag or two. When she leaves, she has a lot of things, hindi magkaugaga, many times, I would give maleta so they could carry their belongings)
We now have an All New team. The kusinera only knows how to cook menudo and tinola. Edmund said it’s okay, so we don’t get fat.
