I was sick for more than a week. From the time we arrived from Europe till now, I am still under the weather. But the first week was bad.
I managed to go to the office on Monday, June 16, although with a very bad throat, and I took Biogesic while in the office, at 11 am kasi para akong lalagnatin.
I had no intention to see a doctor but Edmund said I should. I was also concerned of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome caused by corona virus (MERS Cov) , eh di ba our flight passed thru their continent.
I went to Dr. Perfecto Palafox’s clinic in Cardinal Santos. Daming pasyente.
After a few minutes, here comes my husband na, checking-on me.
While waiting, this other patient seated beside me started saying things that didn’t make sense. There’s a pretty old woman who was also waiting.
The pretty old woman turned out to be Mrs. Cierrito Legazpi, the mother of Rowell Santiago and Reymart Santiago. Chat said she was an actress in her younger years. I wish I reach 76 still looking pretty. Sayang I didn’t take her picture.
Lady——– “76”.
Guy——— “Hindi halata. Kala ko 80, 90 ka na”.
(Tarantado ano?)
The woman was stunned but just tried to ignore him. He didn’t stop.
Guy——— “Saan ka nakatira”
Lady——– “Sa may Commonwealth”.
Guy——— “Malayo. Kami lakad lang”.
Lady——– “Bakit, san ka nakatira”.
Guy——— “Greenhills, lakad lang kami, dyan sa may Connecticut”.
Lady——– “Anong street? Dyan kami dati, sa_____ street”.
Guy——– “Hindi kami nakatira dyan sa Project 4 na kami, para malapit sayo”.
The lady rolled her eyes.
Guy——– “may crush sa’yo ito”.
He was pointing at his female personal assistant o girlfriend nya yun.
When he went inside the doctor’s clinic, I asked Chat who was that. She said he had a stroke before and naoperahan sa ulo. Kaya pala.
Dr. Palafox assured me that it’s not MERS-COV. He told me infront of Edmund “Allergic ka kay Edmund”.
He prescribed a tablet to be taken at night for 6 nights. it would also make me sleepy daw.
By 6 pm, I was already asleep. I woke up the next morning with no voice. My kids were making fun of my voice. Para akong ipis when I try to speak. And I sounded like a mouse when I laugh.
I was down for several days. Edmund wanted me to go back to the doctor but I refused kasi my immune system was down, baka mahawa pa ako dun ng sakit. Dr. Palafox advised me to just continue with the medicine. What I did na lang was to augment it with Decolgen.
I asked the cook to prepare lugaw for me. Di ba ganyan pag may sakit, dapat may lugaw. Tradition.
Wtih patis, sibuyas na mura (spring onions) and kalamansi.
I never put kalamansi in my arroz caldo. My mom couldn’t understand why someone could eat lugaw without kalamansi. Ako naman, I couldn’t understand why she would force me to put kalamansi.
Sige na nga in honor of my mother in heaven, lagyan ko na nga ng kalamansi.
From tuesday to saturday afternoon, I was just home alone. I was lonely at times. My Pinoy Big Brother housemates have their own activities. Lahat sila busy. Ako lang ang taong bahay.
In Binangonan, when one is feeling alone or lonely, you can just go out and make tsismis with your neighbors or sa mga istambay. Pssst, halika nga dito, alam mo bang buntis si Cruselda at sino daw ang ama?
Dito walang ganun. I wonder what our neighbors are doing?
