Waiting at the Mabuhay Lounge for at least an hour for my flight allows me to observe the other passengers, or unintentionally hear their conversations.
Tonight I noticed a couple not looking at each other They were seated at the same table but not facing each other. The guy was frowning, the woman too. her upper body was turned to the left as if she was purposely avoiding facing presumably her husband. Both of them were frowning. They were traveling to Los Angeles because they stood up after the boarding announcement.
Edmund and I are like this too, sometimes. Siguro kasi sa tagal na ng pinagsamahan namin, nauubos na yung pagkukwentuhan. It’s more interesting to communicate with the outside world, or watch tv, or Youtube.
So many couples are now into the silent marriage phase. It looks and feels sad to see couples physically together but they are clearly not into each other anymore.
