I always see this Skinny Fats restaurant sign board every time I go to CVS. Two people had told me the food was very good. When I asked what kind of food they have, they said hamburger. Hmm, not fond of burgers.
I was getting sick of eating kare-kare almost everyday so I decided to try this Skinny Fats. I was going to CVS and the restaurant was just behind it.
The moment I stepped in, I liked it already.
The interior is casual, bright, with a happy vibe.
The artistic decor is no ordinary. It’s hip and vibrant. It’s something kids, adults and senior citizens would like.
The menu is also beyond the ordinary. It took me a while to figure out what they have. There was a long line of customers and I kept on moving back to have more time to read through the menu board. With names like Swinentology,
Avocatofu, Pimp Sjrimp, Tu-nuts, Berry Strong, Healthy Chicks, Wrap Supastar, Chickhumm, Cluck Moo, Sweet Cheese Us, Teriyahi, Steakation, it was overwhelming at first glance. There’s also something called Spicy Latina which is probably the equivalent of our Maanghang na Pilipina. Spicy Latina is a creamy tomato soup with pico, cilantro, jalapeno, served with tortilla strips. Chickawaffadopolis is an order of chicken tenders and buttermilk waffle, syrup and powdered sugar.
I ordered two different kinds for the same price. One had raw or lightly seared tuna (Ahi Srirachi) and the order one was fried (Ahi Taco San).
Sa tagal ng order ko, I explored the toilets to see if the vibe continued into the private places. Wala naman tao kaya pumasok ako sa men’s.
Women’s wash room. The drawing is a cross between a fruit and a butt.

Instead of waiters bringing water, I think having a water station in one corner is more efficient and practical. We should have more of this in the Philippines kesa nacho-coke na ako eh, “waiter pengeng tubig”.
Half hour had passed, my cellphone battery was almost drained. I can’t afford to have less than 35% or else Uber might not be able to locate me.
I found a spot where there’s a phone outlet under the table.
It took my Ahi Tuna tacos at least 30 minutes to arrive. I found it slow. Other people’s orders came in faster. Baka nangisda pa yung cook.
The tacos were very good and it was worth the wait. I couldn’t make up my mind if I liked one over the other. I liked both.
They claim that they are the best restaurant in the entire galactic system. Maybe they are one of the best restaurants in Las Vegas.
