I’ve been to this souvenir store many times. I bought my traditional Hungarian blouse colored white with blue embroidery here last April.
It’s located right on the tourist pedestrian shopping street Vaci Utca in Vorosmarty Square where we go to every single day.

They’ve started packing up some of their merchandise and most likely as of this writing, they are no longer there.
Everything is at 50% discount if you pay cash and 30% if you pay with your credit card.
The store has two levels. The main floor has the male owner sitting at the cashier desk and directing people to go down to the basement for more merchandise.
There are two sales people assisting customers on the basement.
I bought several table cloths at 50% off.
My sister said it’s obvious that I’ve been to this store many times because I am on a first name basis with the sales staff.
This is Alexandra. A young lady from Hungary. When I told her she is as young as my daughter, She asked me “how old is your daughter?”
When I told her Oyen’s age, her face dropped.
She’s only 20 pala. She asked me if she looks old.
She is thinking of going to Paris to work. She speaks a little French because she had worked there before. She still wants to come back to Hungary when this souvenir shop opens again.
It’s not my favorite store in Budapest but I hate to see stores or businesses fold up. I am a business owner too, that’s why probably more than everyone else, I get affected when there are entrepreneurs who are forced to close their business. I empathize with them.
I wish I have more space in my luggage, or else I would have bought more. Imagine, 50 % off. And most importantly, for the record, these are hand-made, embroidered, in HUNGARY. Not in China.
The owner told me times have changed. The young generation does not want to buy traditional stuff like table cloths. It’s a dying industry. That’s what my suki in HK also told me. No one buys these things anymore.
I also bought a few table cloths with Christmas embroidery from another store. So far my pocket money has gone to plates and table cloths. I haven’t bought anything else.
