Special Lunch @ KRONENHALLE Restaurant

April 10, 2019. Wednesday

After meeting at the Dieter Keller office, we all walked a few short blocks to have lunch at the historic Kronenhalle restaurant. Mr. Andreas Keller and Mr. Daniel set this lunch as soon as we confirmed our schedule to visit Zurich.
It was drizzling and extra cold that day. I was amazed at how down to earth Mr. Keller is. He was even the one holding the umbrella up to shield Oyen and Kimberly from the rain.
As soon as we reached the restaurant’s French glass door, the manager saw Mr. Keller and opened the door and greeted him. One could tell by the way they welcomed him, Mr. Keller is an extremely important patron.

The prices were generally reasonable but there were dishes that cost CHF200 per order.

I chose crab avocado salad for my appetizer. Oyen had mushrooms, while Daniel and Mr. Keller had a plate each of fresh cucumber.

Daniel and Kimberly both had this veal for their main course.

They both finished every piece of it so it must really be good.

My main course, black pasta with prawns

Mr. Keller ordered white asparagus for his main course. He said he would eat light because he and his wife were attending a dinner in Milan that evening. He and his wife were driving to Milan right after our lunch.

I didn’t take a picture of his food.

We didn’t want to order any more dessert because we knew that Mr. Keller was in a hurry because he was going to Milan, but Daniel said we have to taste the restaurant’s chocolate mousse. Susmaryosep sa sarap. Not so sweet. It tasted more like a chocolate souffle. The cream was divine and tasted so fresh. Two hours after our lunch, Oyen, Bingbing, and I were already craving for the chocolate mousse and the cream.

Lucky girls, dining with two of Zurich’s most respected and prominent men, sandwiched by the original paintings of Joan Miro and Marc Chagall.
