Today is Ninoy Aquino’s Day and this is how I spent my holiday:
7:17 am Driver J texted. Pasensya na daw he’s not coming for work because his child has fever. Situations like this is not within our control but it’s difficult when I have important appointments. Good we have extra drivers today.
9:00 Breakfast with Edmund. We ate tiny but delicious fried longanisa from Lukban, Quezon. Antonia served a few other dishes but the longanisa was the only one I ate. Our dessert was fresh papaya. They were really sweet.
A——“Bakit mo nilalagyan ng kalamansi, matamis tapos maasim, eh di naging sweet and sour”.
E——“Pareho sa hotel. Iba ang dating”.
A——“Dapat pala hindi na kita pinapakain ng papaya. Walang mangyayari sa kinabukasan natin”.
E (LOL)
10:00 I was feeling dizzy from sleepiness. I set the alarm at 10:30 and went back to bed. I wasn’t sure if I dozed-off. Do you know the feeling of waking up but not feeling sure if you actually had fallen asleep or your eyes were just closed. Hindi ko sure kung nakatulog ako talaga or naka pikit lang ako.
10:30 I started getting ready for my 11:30 appointment.
11:10 I left the house.
11:15 The broker messaged me to say “I am here at Coffee Bean”.
I was running late.
11:45 Arrived at Vista Mall, Levi Mariano Blvd., Taguig
12:00 – 1:10 pm Tripping
Despite heavy rains I still went to Taguig and checked out this swampy lot to see if it’s suitable or has the potential for use as parking for brand-new vehicles or warehouse. I am overwhelmed with the amount of work and the medium to long-term investments needed to make the lot ideal. This needs thorough planning and evaluation. Thinking about it is exhausting.
It was raining. I asked the broker, Evelyn, how she would go home. I told her, “kung gusto mong sa mga gwapo sumabay, sa kanila ka sumakay. Kung gusto mong maganda, sa akin ka sumabay”.
Evelyn said that twice the transactions didn’t push thru. I told her hindi siguro ukol. My husband said if it’s meant to be then it will happen.
A—-“Ganyan talaga ang buhay, minsan hindi natin alam kung ano’ng mangyayari”.
Immediately, she started sharing with me that all her siblings had passed away. Sya na lang daw natira. I asked what happened to them. Her doctor brother had a heart attack at the age of 58. Another brother borrowed a jeepney so he could deliver food orders. Two buses were racing against each other, nabangga daw yung jeep, tumilapon daw yung mga pagkain at pati na yung kuya nya. He was 49 years old. One brother died of another sickness at age 63. My mind went blank after the third death, too much grief and sadness. I didn’t hear na what happened to the others. My mind just shut off. Na- stress ako.
She hitched a ride to All Home. I still wanted to ask her about a few more things so I invited her to join me for a quick lunch. When all of a sudden, the two other fellows showed up from Evelyn’s behind, looking jealous, so I invited them to join us too.
1:20 – 2:15 — Lunch with the three brokers at Mang Inasal in Vista Mall.
They are jealous at each other. Brokers are like that, nag-aagawan kasi sila sa potential commission if ever. Many transactions don’t materialize because the difficulty and confusion brokers bring.
Mon ordered unli rice but didn’t want to get an extra rice. I told him he should get a refill because I paid extra P14 for his request of unli. Poor guy, I forced him to get half a cup even if he looked busog na.
One of them said they are amazed that I don’t mind eating with them. They said I am cowboy pala and down to earth. They are not poor naman. One of them drives a Toyota Fortuner.
The soup came after we made several follow-ups. Ten minutes pa daw but it’s been 30 minutes. We were done eating already and the soup was still in the pot.
2:23 pm —- Received a call from my daughter telling me about her lunch with her longtime friend Therese who’s now based in New York City. Therese was ICA’s valedictorian.
2:30- gassed-up at Petron
2:38 pm I received a call from the secretary of Amir Sali. My gown is ready for fitting. I told her I’ll be there at 4 pm.
2:41 pm — I replied to Marose’s Viber messages. She dropped off the wedding invitation at Makati Ford.
2:45 – 3 pm Surprise visit at Makati Ford Showroom
When you make a surprise visit, expect that there will be something that would surprise you. Kaya nga surprise. In my case ay dami.
#1 The back cushion of the lounge chairs were in disarray so inayos ko isa-isa.
#2 The sales consultants on duty were not at the reception counter
#3 and #4 I will not tell you. #5 The guard assigned to man one door was not there. I found him busy texting in the dining area. He didn’t notice my presence even when I was already right behind him. He was engrossed looking at his phone. #6 One big corrugated box full of empty Jollibee meal boxes were on the floor. Kaya pala ang daming daga dun. Mukhang merong nagblow-out nung Saturday.
#7 There were lots of empty dishes, glasses, beverage bottles every where. I asked the two guards “Ngayon lang ba itong kalat na ito?” I continued walking and when I turned around, in less than 3 minutes, wow magic, the tables had been cleared of garbage. Instant.
