The only road leading to Pilapila had already been blocked according to Jaymar since 4 pm. It’s past 5 pm and the flowers for my St. John the Evangelist were still with me. Nerbyos na nga sila. The street marshalls had been notified to let my van pass.
Naka habol din kami. The Holy Wednesday mass was still on-going.
All the other santos were all ready except mine.
Here are the flowers na. The floral arrangements fit perfectly.
Nice na sya! I hope they last till Sunday (suntok sa buwan according to Mister Yee). I brought along a maid to spray water on the flowers every now and then.
LG and his team were the ones who made the andas (carosa). It was so rushed. They only finished the electrical and painting yesterday.
The priest had this name tag made. San Juan Ebanghelista, and it has my name too. Edmund said dapat daw my mom’s surname was spelled out kasi she’s the one originally from Pilapila.
We waited for almost two more hours before the procession started. My God, I kept on peeing. Buti na lang the parish has a decent toilet. Parang tensed kasi ako.
Nonie, Me, Maila, Denice Tan (not Cornejo) and her brother.
Ecce Homo.
St. John’s back view. We heard a little girl say “yan pala si Mama Mary”.
The procession finally started. We’re second to the last pala. Just before Virgin Mary.
I got so worried because the generator didn’t want to start at first.
Yey, umilaw din. Teka, umuusok yung LED spotlights. Patay!
A——— “Tart, bakit itong akin ang laging may problema?”
Edmund was shocked to see this many people.
St. John pala is the BFF of Jesus. I’m so happy, so BFF na rin kami ni Jesus?
Tartfie with St. John on the background.
The young parish priest, Father Jeffry, is very much involved. He has successfully earned the love, respect, support and cooperation of his parishioners. Pero father, can you please re-evaluate the procession’s route? Unnecessarily long.
Next year I will ask LG to put arinola and papag under the carosa.
Thanks so much for giving a detailef story of that 1st Holy Wednesday procession sa parish ng Pilapila. For us who are far away, your blog helped us to have that feeling that wer’ e there too. God bless us all!
thanks tita annie for being with us God Bless you more
in our 2nd year meron na tayong 36 holy week images in Pilapila
By the way, kailangan bang palitan na yung damit ni St. John? Let me know para makapagpadala ako ng kailangan.
And Don’t worry ate Annie, since very active and hands-on naman Si Fr Jeff (Parish Priest) guided parin ang mga Parishioners, and naidi-discourage niya pag may maling practice ang mga tao at ipinapaliwanag niya at naitatama.. Unlike sa ibang lugar na parang nagiging Parada na lang, Pilapila Parishioners are very lucky to have him.. lumalalim ang pananampalataya at naiitama ang mga maling tradisyon.
we also consider your suggestion about the route on Holy Wednesday Procession (mas iiklian na)
Im about to txt you na nga po
