I’ve been hearing so many stories about stem cell lately. Scientific experiments are already being carried out to reproduce not only healthy tissues but organ parts or even whole organs.
There’s a German company named TICEBA (www.ticeba.com) that does tissue reproduction from adult stem cells grown from the skin. According to my friend, they are coming to Manila this month to conduct a free orientation.
Others harvest from the umbilical cord, blood samples, saliva from tongue, and the more commonly known source, spinal cord, but TICEBA slices up some skin from your “singit”. Ouch!
Stem cell technology is a futuristic and innovative science and my brother, Dr. Ricardo C. Tan, Jr., believes that it would still take many more years before this new science can claim success. He said the government of California has invested some $2B on stem cell research but up to now there’s no factual report yet that says that stem cell indeed could save lives.
Stem cell, if effective and perfected, would work like a miracle life and power booster. Once the new tissues or cells are injected into your body, they are expected to rejuvenate, overhaul and recondition your body like new. It would give a person a longer and healthier life.
