The town square near Stephansdom is called Stephansplatz, named after the cathedral. This is where most luxury brand boutiques are located such as Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Bally, Rolex, etc.
This was my third visit to Vienna. First was for two nights, during the presidency of Fidel V. Ramos. We normally did not have city tours when we traveled with the presidents. In Vienna, what I did was to take a cab at 8 pm and told the driver to bring me to where the town plaza was. That was how I discovered Stephansplatz. It was risky to do that. Our hotel was outside of the city. It was a 20 minute taxi ride thru dark streets and highways.
Most of the shops were already closed by the time we got to the square. The huge Louis Vuitton which was a long walk from the cathedral was also closed.
In front of it was a soprano, belting out some opera. Parang nahinayang and naawa naman ako. While I was there, no one cared to drop a coin but she kept singing. Her voice could be heard a block away. I thought she has a microphone kasi her voice projection was loud. Kung mayaman lang ako, I would employ here in Manila and make her sing everyday. Sayang yung talent.
It was 8 pm, we should eat before heading back to our hotel. Malayo din maglakad, mahirap magpabalik-balik. Instead of walking with no clear direction, we walked towards the hotel. Pag meron kaming nakita na kakainan, then dun na lang kami.
We saw a big pizza restaurant on our way back to the hotel. We also saw our friends. Pizza rin sila.
As corny as it sounds, I really told myself I should eat Happy Noodles to cheer me up.
This one’s Crazy Noodles. Parang this would suit me more.
It was chilly and dark when we returned to our rooms. When one is feeling gloomy and sad, the coldness of the surrounding aggravates that feeling of sadness.
