Street Murals and Victorian Homes in San Francisco

When we attended Mason Lodge’s Annual Crab Festival, we couldn’t find a parking spot near their own building. Nyke parked a few blocks away and he had to put coins twice to make sure we didn’t get a ticket.

We were relieved that we parked farther away from the event place otherwise we could get stuck for an hour at least while waiting for others to leave.

San Francisco has been making the headlines due to smash and grab, Asian hate crimes, store break ins, car vandalism and theft, homelessness, drug addiction. The gorgeous city doesn’t deserve this kind of denigration. I wander what their female mayor is doing. I don’t like their district attorney’s soft stance on criminals in total disregard for the lives, safety, and properties of law-abiding and peace-loving citizens, and visitors.

Walking to our vehicle was very pleasant. The weather, the sights, were both beautiful. I couldn’t help but admire the original Victorian residential buildings San Francisco is known for.

Victorian style architectures in San Francisco started to be built in 1850 following the trend that started in England during the reign of Queen Victoria. It was reported that there were more than 40,000 Victorian homes built before 1900. Postcard row of houses painted in pastel colors could still be found around the city. Depending on the size, condition, location, these houses are estimated to be valued at $4M up to $10M or even more.
