Strolling in Wet Munich - Oh My Buhay

We didn’t join today’s tour of the BMW plant 30 minutes from the city to see vintage cars and outlandish concept vehicles from the last two decades. We also skipped the tour of the Dachau Concentration Camp in the afternoon, the first concentration camp built by the Nazis.

I don’t think it’s a good way of spending my day thinking about the thousands of victims who died during the Nazi war. I would be depressed and there could be some spirits following us when our bus leaves the camp.

Edmund and I just walked around Marienplatz and enjoyed strolling around the food market, window shopping, buying souvenirs, and enjoying the local lang. The rain was incessant but we didn’t let it deter us from enjoying our afternoon stroll.

Some of the random photos I took to remember this simple day.

I know.

There’s a food and flower market steps away from Marienplatz.

And EATALY. You can find some special gourmet food such as white and black truffles, caviar, tomahawk, etc.

Got stuck trying to cross the street.

We sat at one of the tables outside Starbucks.  Spent some fun 30 minutes watching people and cars go by. I could sit here all day.

My timing was perfect, not a single soul was in line at Louis Vuitton kaya I went straight inside.

There were handbags I found cute but I was looking for a travel bag.   I have stopped buying branded shawls lately because I just lose them,  They fall off my shoulders without me knowing. And also, I wanted to patronize Philippine-made shawls like those handwoven from Iloilo, Abra, and Baguio. They are incredibly cheap but very nice too.

I climbed the stairs to LV’s second floor but I also didn’t find anything that would make my credit card jump out of my purse.

Rolex and Patek Philippe have displays but these are only for the eyes to see.  No stocks and the retailers can’t say when supply would be back to normal.

I don’t know how many handbags a woman needs. Many just keep on buying, and not use them. I am just as guilty. I am lazy to switch bags. When I transfer my abubot, I tend to forget or leave behind some important items like my wallet, my medicines, and my perfume.

This Prada looks nice. As I get older, the harder it gets to carry handbags. Some leather bags are too heavy even without anything in it. Before I buy bags based on beauty, never mind if not functional. Now, I buy bags based on their functionality.

Not enjoyable to stroll around because of the rain.

Edmund and I split up so I could buy some souvenirs, and he could look for a winter jacket. Our meeting place was at the entrance of C & A. I enjoyed listening to the musicians while waiting for Edmund. Not many passersby dropped money.

A rare sight – homeless people.

I was able to buy several small souvenir items like a porcelain doll,  salt and pepper shaker, etc. Pag-uwi namin I am sure I would just forget about them.,

Pork knuckle would be our dinner but we couldn’t wait for dinnertime anymore. We were getting cold and wet from the rain.

They also have a clock in the Town Hall similar to Prague’s Astronomical Clock.

Supposedly we were meeting with our tour group at 7 pm but at 4:30 pm, we were too tired, sleepy, and wet from the rain.  We just took home some sandwiches and took a taxi back to the hotel.  Kain and tulog.
