October 18, 2014 Saturday
Edmund was arriving at 7 pm via PAL 104. Before picking him up, we went first to Kuya Romy’s house kasi it’s the 12th birthday of his apo, Ross. Ross was born in the Philippines. He was probably 4 when he was brought to the US by his parents. He speaks fluent Tagalog.
We didn’t buy toys kasi Ross is big na. It was only when we’re getting off the car that we realized we didn’t have cash. Aileen got a check from her bag. Ako I gave Ross $40 cash na lang. Wala akong check, wala na ring cash.
Ate Ella (wife of Kuya Romy) was at the grill when we arrived.
Eto na naman, kain na namang umaatikabo.
I ate 6 pieces grilled hotdogs.
I drank 4 glasses of melon juice. I peed 8 times, no kid.
Six-month old Junior, Len, and Ross, the birthday celebrant.
Junior is the 3rd and youngest child of my nephew Ronnie. Ross is the eldest.
he and his wife Kay joined a multi-level marketing group selling Made in Korea product called Powerstrips which is very similar to Salonpas. When I heard $70 a pack, bumili na agad kami ni Aileen, to help the couple. Mabuti nga yun, natututo silang magbenta.
Tatlo na anak nila, kailangan talaga merong income.
Ronnie—- “Tita, businessman na ako ngayon”.
Meron silang bisita nasa loob, kanta ng kanta, Ayaw papigil. Hihiyaw-hiyaw.
We left at 7:10 pm. The SFO airport is only 15-20 minutes away depending on the traffic.
We were at the San Mateo Bridge when Edmund texted. They’ve landed but he’s still inside the plane.
We had the perfect timing. Bong didn’t park anymore, he waited outside hoping no police would come to shoo him away. Aileen and I had a few minutes to drop water. Then after making tunganga for 5 minutes, he suddenly appeared. Ang bilis maglakad.
E—— “Hi Tart, ang tagal mo na dito.”.
He touched my left cheek. “Kuminis ang kutis mo”.
Hoy mister, ipinanganak na po akong makinis ang kutis.
Ay blurred, bilis nyang maglakad.
Here comes my sundo. I am going home soon.
