Super Praning

There was a heavy downpour last Thursday followed by flash floods. I was caught in the office because I was listening to a guy offering some products.

Edmund called to check if I was already home. He informed me that traffic was really bad, and that it took him at least two hours from Cainta to Ortigas.
When I finally left my office at 6 pm, roads around us were already blocked.
I got caught for an hour in front of Don Bosco and there was no way for me to turn around. Waltermart was a few steps away but I was afraid to walk thinking that someone could snatch my handbag. Kasi sometime ago, I witnessed a woman lost her bag to a riding in tandem right on this spot.

I waited till my car was in front of Waltermart’s main entrance before I got off.

I gave my driver P100 so he could eat in Chowking, then to wait for me at the lobby. He’s not actually a driver, I just asked him to drive for me this week to test his level of driving skills, in case of emergency. Marunong naman sya, except driving is not the forte of soldiers, kaya when I tell him left, he turns right.

I went first to Mercury Drug which is located on the left side of the mall.
Going to Mercury Drug is like going to a doctor’s clinic. Yung sales lady umuubo, yung customer on my left, right, back were all coughing. Para kaming may concert. Etong isang ito, kain pa ng kain ng ice cream, ubu na nga ng ubo. I wanted to scold her, I just controlled my temper. Ano ba, may ubo ka na nga eh!

I bought a small bottle of alcohol. I was freaking out because earlier, I stepped on the puddle inside our service facility. Bigla akong nagworry na baka merong weewee ng daga yung water. Add to that, my companion told me one of his comrades died after taking part in the Yolanda rescue operations. Lumusong daw sa baha.

I sprayed the alcohol on my two feet, pinaliguan ko talaga ng alcohol.

It was 7 pm and I looked for a place to eat that’s a little quiet. I went to Kitaro Japanese Restaurant.

I over ate.

I asked the janitor where the toilets are. Tinuro nya, nasa sulok, walang tao dun, its very near the entrance to the parking on the second or third floor. I was scared to go inside big empty public toilets. Something bad could happen to me.

I saw a guy following me to the toilet. I stopped and let him go first. I looked at his belongings, he was holding an umbrella. Baka kako meron syang baril or panaksak. I followed him some 5 meters behind. He got something from a vendo machine. Naku po, baka merong condom dispenser.
Pero bakit naman magco-condom pa sya kung gagaghasin nya ako?

He went inside the men’s toilet. I looked at the vendo machine. Tissue paper pala. Pero bakit magti-tissue paper sya. Men don’t wipe their birdies when they pee. Oh he’s probably going to poops.

I breathed some sigh of relief, so I entered the female toilet. Praning talaga ako, naku baka merong virus, so I took out the alcohol and started spraying on the toilet bowl. I couldn’t breath from the alcohol smell, I opened the door.

And laki pala nitong toilet and not a single person was there. The silence made me feel eerie. In a few seconds, gory details flashed in my head, tomorrow, I am going to be in the news, old woman’s body found in the toilet. I immediately stepped out.

I went one more floor, there were more people on this floor and there’s a toilet that’s not so isolated. There were also a few woman inside. I went in and I was so praning na naman. Worried naman ako mawala ang bag ko. I didn’t blink, I kept my eyes glued on my bag.

My daughter told me that I am super praning.
Isang linggo lang ako hindi naka kita ng tao dahil I was just home, na praning na ako. Feeling ko people were watching me.

I should go to a psychiatrist.

I looked for a place to hang around till traffic subsided. Wala naman akong makitang appropriate place. Eto sana, pero I noticed on their services menu, it says waxing, eh wala naman akong balahibo.

My daugher messaged me again, I should go na daw because traffic’s not so bad na.
I left Waltermart at 8 pm and reached home at 9:15 pm.
