I attended the talk of Suze Orman this morning at the NBC Tent in Taguig City.
She said she did not get paid even a single centavo to come to Manila to speak today. BPI is the sponsor and Suze is a long-time friend of Doris Magsaysay Ho, the President of The Asia Society wherein I am a member.
Maybe they have some business partnerships because Suze mentioned that she is putting up a call center here in Manila.
When I arrived at 9:10 am, all the good seats were already taken but I managed to get a seat on the second row right behind Doris Magsaysay Ho.
I would like to share what I have learned today from Suze Orman.
1. Credit Card debt is very bad because you tend to buy something you cannot afford.
2. Debt is bondage that you carry on your shoulders and weighs you down.
3. Stay out of debt.
4. Look at what you are spending your money on
5. Money almost mean everything- milk, education, electricity, healthcare, house, gas, etc.
6. Nothing is wrong in wanting to have more money.
7. Never trust anybody including so-called financial investment consultants, with your money.
8. Learn as much as you can about money.
9. Get involved with the money you have. Be in control.
A boy from the audience asked a question and suze called him to the stage.
Ang galing naman ng batang ito. He’s only 17 and yet he already maintains a stock portfolio since he was 14, money comes from Christmas and birthday gifts to him.
