March 16, 2013 Saturday
I got stuck the whole day at home that’s why when we were deciding where to eat after the anticipated mass, I chose to find a restaurant in a mall so I could at least exercise by walking a little.
Edmund suggested that we go to Tao Yuan restaurant. He has always wanted to bring us there. He had eaten at their branch in Malate and he swears that I would like the food.
There’s Tao Yuan in the new Robinson’s Magnolia mall.
Oyen was leading the way. We went down the escalator and when Edmund saw that it’s the fastfood area, he said “Anak hindi dito”. We went up again.
We came here to taste their version of Singaporean Hainanese Chicken.
I kidded Edmund, kunwari gusto ko Buddha soup.
He looked at the price, he felt relieved when he saw “advance order”. (laughs)
Kung galit ka sa pera o sa asawa mo, order one kawa of Buddha Soup and one whole Abalone
Oyen ordered beef hofan. We took home some for Nyke.
Edmund ordered one whole Hainanese Chicken plus two cups of Hainan Rice. He said the rice tasted orig.
Pero for me, it’s average, not great.
The two of us couldn’t finish this. We brought home the rest of it for Nyke.
It’s been several saturdays that Oyen and Nyke were taking turns joining us for mass and dinner. We haven’t been complete.
Oyen and Edmund didn’t want to have dessert. I said “let’s order something, maybe lychee”.
Edmund agreed “sige lamond with lychee”.
We called the waitress to order dessert but she informed us that there’s a free black gulaman.
Edmund requested if they could put lychee.
Me———-“Ano kayang lasa nun?”
When the black gulaman came, we each got half or 3/4 piece of lychee.
When we started eating the black gulaman, our verdict was unanimous— hindi masarap, walang lasa, or masama ang lasa.
Me——— (laughs) lasang tya (tea), hayan kasi mahilig sa libre.
Edmund—– Hindi naman tayo humihingi ng libre, magbabayad tayo
Edmund—– Miss, paki sabi hindi masarap yung black gulaman.
Oyen——- Miss, walang lasa.
Edmund—– Miss, paki sabi siguraduhin na masarap kung magbibigay din lang kayo.
Siguro sabi, napaka demanding naman nito, libre nga lang eh.
Everything that we ordered tasted good most especially the fresh clam soup. The gulaman was the exception.
We went to a phone accessories store. Oyen bought a portable Iphone charger for P3,999.00. She was hesistant to buy it because of the price but she really needs one most especially that she would be traveling this week.
Edmund was the one who told me that the woman wearing a long purple dress was comedian Kaye Brosas.
We bought yogurt from Red Mango before going home.
I can’t understand why yogurt is more expensive than ice cream and Jollibee.
Medium size P120 per cup plus P20 topping. The cup is not even full.
