Yen brought me to Tavern at the Lakeview Hotel in Tagaytay to see the place and try their food.
We ordered mostly comfort food, like this potato strings. In my moment of weakness, I gave in and ordered a glass of strawberry shake. I was actually looking for dalandan juice but they didn’t have.
Oyen wanted the prosciutto with arugula pizza but they ran out so as an alternative, we ordered pepperoni pizza. I must say that the crust was way better than the pizza crust in Buon Giorno.
I ordered chicken wings but we couldn’t finish the whole plate.
There were lots of mosquitos flying around us while we were eating. Nakakakilabot. I rubbed some peppermint on my elbows, feet, and nape hoping that the minty smell would make them go away but they didn’t. I killed this one. I wasn’t sure if this was a yellow fever mosquito (Aedes aegypt) or the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus). Whatever it was, it was not fun eating while being threatened by these dangerous creatures.
I will bring Edmund here just to try Tavern’s pizza.
We met the owner on our way out. We told her that the food was good except that there were too many mosquitoes. She said it’s the breeding season of mosquitoes. Well, they have to do something about it. Guests and diners cannot be greeted by black menacing mosquitoes that are potentially dengue fever carriers.
That was a huge one…scary!!!
We’ve seen bigger ones.
